Trailer suspension sag?

In time, does the suspension on a trailer begin to sag on the side with the slides? The extra weight of the slides, and the apparatus that allow them to operate add weight to one side of the trailer, plus the leverage of having the slides extended makes me wonder if this is an issue, and if a remedy has been found.

Estimated $25 - $35 / pack - depending on sizing.

About $100 for the springs plus shipping.

What does it run to replace all four springs?

I recently busted a spring. I think I might have pulled it 50-100 miles like that. The spring on that side on the other axle really took a load for a while (the tire too I suppose). At any rate, I replaced all four springs with a heavier rated set and installed a Mor-Ride wet bolt and HD shackle set. Shopping for tires now.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Yes, some trailer suspensions do sag over time. Especially its heavier side.

Remember that many RV factories build to minimum specs. Above minimum specs means higher cost - which means less profits in their pockets. If planning to replace sagged leaf spring pack, recommend replacing all 4 "packs" at same time. And, upgrade +1 size up as well. If wondering, I +1 up size the suspension parts on my many different trailers (RV, boat, utility). And, I +1 up size their tire ratings as well. re: From C to D or from D to E. This works for me.

Thanks for the responses. It hasn't happened to our trailer, it was just something that came to mind. Since the side with the slides gets a greater load, I was just wondering.

Outdoors RV trailers have an in-house designed and built, off-road, heavy duty, certified frame. Any of the TTs built under the Northwoods umbrella should be one of the least likely out there to have problems and their frames shouldn't be something to lose sleep over. Should still do periodic inspections tho.

Not sure the slide adds that much when tucked in and rolling.
My springs were sagging worse on the kitchen side when I replaced them (all 4).

It can and does happen to some TTs and 5th wheels. Time for a new set of springs. I would replace both sides at the same time.

When springs are loaded near, at, or beyond their max all the time, they can and sometimes do sag. If the springs are comfortably loaded well below their max, they will give good service life and generally not sag, unless their spring steel is of low quality.

You may have broken leaf springs. Not uncommon. Also the bushings wear out very quickly. Wet bolt kits that replace the bushings with bronze bushings that can be greased through the bolts are pretty cheap and you can have your springs re-tensioned when you take it apart to replace the bushings. New springs are cheap as well.

Should not. Sag is a function of weak springs. So sag equals low grade components to me. My 11 year old fiver still sits level with two slides on the street side.
