Trailers without shower surrounds?
I feel dumb by asking this, but why do some brands of trailers ship models with no shower surround? The wallpaper they use is definitely not waterproof, and it seems like it is asking for water intru...

If you are really concerned with the wall coverings, you could always cover them with Lexan or acrylic plastic. Seal all the edges and the water won't reach the wall surface.
Another alternative is to treat the wall paper surfaces with a conformal coating that will not react with the paper or glue but is water resistant. This would be like painting onto the surface of the walls. Painting the entire shower area like this would be the real deal.
