bought a used TT 2008 and the roof is in great shape but the end cap and the caulking looked like this.

after cleaning it it now looks like this..

So my question... I want to seal this area with eternabond tape 6in wide tape. the front part (aluminum front wall) and the rubber roof part I know the tape will stick with no problem. but is the caulking area clean enough for the tape to stick or do i have to try to remove all the caulking off and than use the tape.
thanks........

Ditto. I did this with a previous trailer and it worked wonders.

Removing the old stuff is not only better for the tape to stick, it will also look 100% better. I removed all of my caulking on both the front and rear caps of my pr4evious coach and put down a single strip of eternabond tape on each. Looks factory, in fact, looks better than factory and seals much better. I also did this to the skylight.

I removed ALL caulking and cleaned the surface with acetone.

Agree with above. Remove as much as possible and if needed, use a heat gun to soften for easier removal.
That stuff has had it!
Oops, looks like Tom and I had the same idea.

A hair dryer type heat gun makes this much easier. Be careful and don't burn it.
