- skipbeeExplorerThere are no 100 million dollar photos but many multi-million dollar paintings, that are not exact reproductions of reality but are an artistic interpretation of an event. I love Sleepy's comment regarding equipment vs talent. Many of the folks working in NYC are caught in the rat race of greed and instinctively resent those who are free to pursue their talents and dreams.
Although we revel in the solitude and beauty of the remote spots we all love, I suspect some of the producers of the TV fare are leery of such unbridled and joyus behavior. There are those who mock us as irresponsible, we're those redneck, hippies etc. Ain't it great!
We are pleasure seekers, if your not seeking fun, what are you seeking?
Angela and Gordon keep us informed as to who, what, when and where it's all happening, with humor, art and accuracy combined. That's talent! Hope they get better coverage tonight!
Love to all,

The TCM technical quality was sub-standard for high def video broadcast.
The video is an excellent production but it's shot on a Nikon 5200 in video mode. It's not even close to an entry level broadcast level video camera.
The technical quality looks okay on YouTube and desktop monitors, but the segment broadcasted on ABC looked really grainy, lacked color depth and sharpness.
I don't mean to knock the TCM production. On the contrary, it's excellent. TCM would have to upgrade to a 3-CCD camera for TV production.
Something like:
And that is most likely why ABC could not use more of the TCM video production.
Equipment can be aquired... artistic ability is a gift.
Television news broadcasts seldom fail to have one or more youtube videos featured on every show... even national news. When NBC grabs a youtube segment... ABC will have it on a few days later and visa-verseie... they fill their time slot with free junk.
Our son-in-law is a Sony Video engineer...he was in charge of the analog to digital transformation for networks and stations... the equipment that stations had to have to go digital was unbelieveably expensive... non professionals aren't going to be able to afford it... most of us aren't that discriminating anyway... we liked what TCM did, viewing it on our laptops or iPads. - bighatnohorseExplorer IIThe TCM technical quality was sub-standard for high def video broadcast.

Virgil... thanks so much for posting the link. Janet and I just watched it a couple of times... our friends at TCM have done an amazing job with the filming and editing. They may have gained a new dimension in their abilities... we'll all be looking for more.
Hint: I purchase DVD's from PBS Nova ocassionally... one from last week.
ABC lost an opportunity last night, I hope that they air more of the "TCM" videos tonight at 6:30 pm as Lance posted earlier today.
Sleepy
Fantastic video and so fun watching it while sitting in my TC at Walmart.
You gotta love truck campers!! - Camp__Forrest__ExplorerI thought it was cool that international tourists wanted to travel in RV's. I think they get a better impression of the average Joe that way than they would staying in nice hotels. (I'm assuming they stay in nice hotels because I do when I don't know the country I'm going to.)

ABC World News Featuring Lance Camper
Tonight at 6:30pm EST, ABC World News will be featuring Lance Camper on their Made In America segment. In an effort to show the adventurous side of the RV lifestyle, ABC reached out to the GO RVing movement to find families who enjoyed taking to the road in their camper. There were so many people ready and willing to tell their story but there could only be a few features. - billtexExplorer II

Brad and Angelina, err, Gordon and Angela, are two of the best representatives, we in TC world could hope for. I think a reality show, featuring our TCM'ers, should be in the offing!
