I'm new to the forum starting today. My situation is similar to VAredRAM's except that I have an '09 Ram 3500HD 4WD SRW pickup. I made an assumption that I'd be able to carry the AF990 w/o any issues...

Hi bc...weclome to the forum.Tried to PM you...you have it locked out.
Stay within your axle/tire ratings and you will be fine. What you are proposing is already being done by MANY.
Just look through the picture thread and you'll see the real story.
You will need a trip to the scales to verify your loads, bring the trailer with you...maybe empty to start...
Then post your axle ratings and weights from the scale and we will help you figure it out.
You may need a WD hitch...like the Equalizer brand-to help distribute the load of the trailer.
