We got back home yesterday afternoon in time for Christmas. We stayed in Texas instead of driving into NM, and had a very nice trip. From Caprock Canyons SP near Turkey, TX (home of Bob Wills) we drove down to San Angelo, then on to Sonora where we visited the Caverns of Sonora. The caverns are probably the most beautiful and unique I have ever experienced, and we’ve been in quite a few. One noted speleologist put it this way: “The beauty of the caverns cannot be exaggerated. Not even by a Texan.” If you are ever in the area, don’t miss it!
We then drove around in the Hill Country for a few days. Here’s a few pictures of the cats enjoying the trip.
Dixxie spies a cardinal. She wants it bad!
Sharing the window seat at Guadalupe River SP.
Selina got to go for a walk on the rocks at Inks Lake SP.
Holy guacamole Catwoman! (Look at her tail) Who let that dog on the trail!
He’s gone, right? Whew!
(The dog was a good twenty yards away, and was never threatening towards us. I’m not even sure it knew a cat was nearby).
