TT Slide out seal visible when slide out closed

Just picked up a new TT yesterday after a couple years of not owning one. Today, I noticed that when the slide is retracted, that you can see a little bit of the black seal sticking up between the slide and the TT body. I opended the slide and shut it and it looked exactly the same. Is this going to cause an issue with keeping water out? Do I need to try to adjust the seal so it seats correctly when the slide is closed? I have a picture but can't figure out how to upload. Thanks for the help.
  • Jerry, thanks for response. I went to where the trailer is stored today to make sure no water got in (had a pretty good storm last night) and to take some better pics. No water inside the camper. I extended the slide and used a ladder to check out the top seal. It looks like it is warped and this is causing it to stick out when the slide is closed. The trailer is only a couple days old, should I try and get that seal replaced under warranty? Here's two pics of the seal. Thanks again for the help.

Could only see one pic, and that is hard to see with blended black colors. It appears like the wiper portion of the seal, may not have turned under, but instead flipped up when closing. If this is the case, it is caught between the slide and actual seal. This could cause a leak if a slight gap is open anywhere along the top seal, especially if the slide side is higher than the other side.

When putting the slide in, you may need to help the rubber wiper to fold under, while second person is operating the switch.

  • Do a search on rv.net photo posting. You really need to add the pic to get accurate answers.
