tv antenna

Here I am again. How does a person free up a TV antenna that will turn by hand on the roof but not with the inside crank. Thanks.
  • The crank makes it go up and down and you are talking about turning the antenna. Which doesn't work, up and down or turning?

  • Can you see the small set screw on the handle. Could that be loose or broken

or are all the parts in for the rotator

The crank set screw is tight. The crank is frozen. Won't turn.
Assuming you have the common Wingard mount (you never say which antenna you have) - the crank raises and lowers it, it doesn't turn the antenna. There's a plastic ring which pulls down 1/2 inch and then turns to aim the antenna.

It's really not clear what you're describing - you say you can turn it on the roof, but the design is such that you when used properly, you can't turn the antenna unless it's raised first. The crank will stop turning when the antenna is all the way up or down.
  • The inside crank raises and lowers the antenna. The ring with a pointer pulls down and rotates the antenna.
