TV - Best way to get cable / see football games

Satellite works best unless you are surrounded by trees! Need a clear view to the SW.

The best way would probably be satellite. Even when you're paying for wifi the service can be incredibly iffy for TV. We have dish at home so there's no extra cost beyond a tripod and another dish. We just take the receiver out of the house and drop it into the trailer. Now I get local channels from the trailer's antenna, and from the receiver, local home channels, cable, and my DVR'd shows. Basically anything I can see at home I can see out on the road. One nice thing I like about my receiver is that I can still watch all of my recorded shows without having to hook up the dish. Comes in handy when out on the road and I don't feel like setting up the dish.

We have Dish Network at home. We bought a Dish Tailgater and take a receiver out of the house with us when we go camping. The Tailgater is fully automatic so even I can set it up. Just aim it SSW and you're good to go. All, or most of the channels we get at home.

We always found wifi to be pretty lame from parks that even provide it whether it's included with the site or having to paying extra. For us it was a simple choice since we have satellite at home. Bought the same dish from Ebay that we have at home for under $50, along with a spare HD receiver from one of the bedrooms and we have all the same channels while RVing, even locals if we are still instate.

Best way? Directv or Dish network. Direct has better sports package options. Figure out which you want, buy a dish/tripod package from one of the many online retailers, sign up and get your receiver. That way you can watch your favorite programs anywhere you go.

The problem with WiFi is your are at the mercy of the WiFi provider. Some have limited bandwidth which means the more people using it the slower the speeds will be. For example on resort we stay in the WiFi is really slow from about 4PM to 7PM. It's nearly impossible to watch any streaming type program like a TV show or Sports event.

Another problem is some provider will throttle the speeds of heavy users to prevent one person from using up all of the bandwidth.

It is getting better but a satellite dish is the best way to go for now.
