TV bracket blues

The TV bracket in our bed area is situated so that it hangs a little lower than I would like. It's kindda hard to watch while looking down my chest to my feet.
What I need is the ability to not only go side to side but up and down to allow the TV to look down to us as appose to us looking at our toes.
The bracket itself cannot be moved up to accomplish this. This is a real pain in the neck.
Any ideas?

    Get a nice piece of hardwood from your local lumbaryard, maybe 1" thick.

    Bolt it to the wall using the existing threaded holes.

    Before that run some bolts through the wood, an inch or 3 higher than where they are now.

    Now connect the wood to the wall then your bracket to the wood.

    OR...raise your head

    OR...lower the obstruction :R

    My neck is so bad I learned how to hang my TV from the escape hatch crank handle. No scrunching my neck just lay there in a completely neutral position. My wife likes it that way too. Up nice and high so you can lay back and watch.

    James, You would have to make sure that up/down motion is able to be kept tight , very tight .
    The constant moving of the tv will probably cause it to become loose and you might have to tighten it up all the time . So, be sure its an easy task .

    Assuming an LCD, there are lots of mounts on eBay, but I'd take another look at the mount it probably swivels up/down if you loosen a screw.

    It only articulates right to left and swivels facing up or down. It does not move the LCD up and down.

    In that case, the easiest fix is probably to remount the bracket or buy a more adjustable articulating bracket if you want adjustability.

    Not sure what kind of TV you have, but I got rid of my CTR dinosaur and put in an RCA 15" w/ DVD (12 volt) on an articulated arm. No more looking over my toes to see the screen.

    The plate that mounts to the back of the TV typically has four screws. You can bolt on a larger plate to the existing one and offset the holes to mount the TV higher.
