Ultra Low Sulfur Sign Fail!!

I don't know if I'm reading this wrong, but it seems like this mandated posted sign must have been made in China! It says the diesel is ULSD compliant, but NOT to use it in 2007 or newer vehicles! Am I reading it right? Is the sign wrong?

Thanks,
Brian
  • that's pretty hilarious. Someone certainly fails to understand why ULSD exists in the first place.
  • Right? I agonized over it for a few minutes. It's at a 7/11 in Las Vegas. It was the best price around. After a buddy of mine (on the phone) assured me they were not selling non compliant in Nevada I filled up. Lol. Where do they even get that sign? :)
  • Sign company just mixed up verbage from different signs.

There are NON-Highway Use diesel sign that warns 'Federal Law prohibits use in highway vehicles'.
Then there are ULSD Diesel signs where it states required for use in 2007 and later and recommended for all engines
Then there are new ULSD DIesel signs where it states required for 2011 and newer and recommended for all diesel engines

And many other variations............just check out a Federal Reg.
No wonder sign companies mess up
  • My main rule to purchasing fuel for my diesel is that I want to buy from a station that sells a ton of it. My second consideration is the price.
