I am not going to push the fact with them, however they brought the whole topic up to begin with, the technician said we should talk to service, then we asked the service mgr. Now that we know what is causing it we are obviously are not making it worse. It just seems that if GM knew there was a problem with the fabric, knew what caused it, then why have they not informed customers? I guess you don't know us but we certainly would never intentionally cause damage and expect someone else to correct or pay for it. If we knew it would happen then we would have not done it but there was no information saying, please use the cup holders because any water caused by sweating on the cup or bottle will cause damage.
This has never happened with any other cloth seat we have had in a vehicle and hubby has always held his pop like a lot of guys do. Let's be honest here, how many people would expect this to happen and say to themselves, don't let the water from a sweating bottle or cup hit that cloth seat or it will stain. How many of us actually have set their pop bottle or cup on the seat?
