Very sad at number of useless posts

Well, I got the dreaded Photobucket notification telling me I can't embed pics from my account to third-party sites. I'm not overly concerned since I hardly use Photobucket. However, I do use TinyPic considerably to host pics I post in other websites but I haven't been notified I can't do that any longer. Not yet.

OK...I will say the same thing I have been saying for the last few weeks and I will say it slow...They ...don't...want...you...to...sign...up!

They don't want to be in the 3rd party hosting business. 75% of their costs were 3rd party hosting and they couldn't do that anymore and stay in business.

Personally, I never used their service. Hated how it worked. I use Dropbox but don't expect it to work forever. I found Google photos works.

There are other options. Don't expect Imgur to be any different in a few years so don't get on that sinking ship either.

What's turned useless is the excellent Honda 2000 carburetor rebuild thread.

Hopefully the OP will go back and move those pix to something that works. I just downloaded all my PB images with the matching links shown under the PB splash page, so it should be an easy fix once a new home is found

It is the unscrupulous way the policy was implemented that pisses me off. No warning no explanation. I had been using PB for over 10 years just for 3rd party linking. Suddenly without warning 3rd party hosting is prohibited!

Yes if the price was reasonable. Or if the traffic was excessive. Or if the link supplied a blog that generated money.
Could have watermarked the photos to encourage new members to pay.
I felt I was held hostage or was subject to a ransom virus when I got the message.
No way do I pay a ransom. The pirates can pound sand.

They make ZERO dollars hosting 3rd party photos. They are getting out of that segment becuase they lose tons of money doing it. I don't blame them one bit.

They set the price at $400 expecting no one to sign up for that on purpose. They could have made it $1000 and got the desired response.

If your pictures still work, they just haven't gotten around to you yet.

Personally, I never used PB. It's a big hassle uploading to their site compared to others.
