Viewfinders-28bhss

We are looking to upgrade our TT to a viewfinder 28bhss. We love the loot plan of this TT. My question is if you own one have ou any negative comments about it. Also we will be pulling with a 2007 ford f150. Our truck pulls up to 7200. The TT weighs 5940 unloaded. And 7660 fully loaded. I don't think I can pack 1300 lbs in the trailer so would I be able to pull with my truck. Thanks.
  • multiple numbers are found actually. With my set up the closest i found was anywhere from 8000- 9000. mine is 12250 combined with my truck and trailer on the scales. if any of that helps
  • Thanks for the info. What's the towing limit on your silver ado
  • We just bought a 14 Viewfinder 28bhss we tow with 09 silverado half ton with 5.3 and 3.73 gears. It pulls great. many on here will tell you no, but it is within the trucks capacity. We pulled ours from ohio to disney through the smokeys and had no problems.

Love the trailer so far, love the floor plan. no so sure about the lippert components power awning.. its super slow compared to the Carefree I had on my last TT.
  • We have a 2013 Viewfinder 28BHSS. We camp in it about every other weekend and it has been great so far. The only negative I can come up with is that the water pump can't pick up the last 8-10 gallons of water out of the tank. I need to drop the underbelly and re-run the pickup line to a Tee in the drain line. I'm sure this problem isn't exclusive to Cruiser RV.

So far I've added 2 flat screens for the rear bunks, swapped in a larger main Tv, added some electrical outlets where needed, put in an auxiliary 30 gal. water tank, changed out the junk Jensen antenna with a Jack and few other little mods here and there. My brother liked our camper so much, he just went out and bought the Radiance 28BHSS (looks exactly like my Viewfinder, except it says Radiance on it). He hasn't had any issues with his so far either.

I'm pulling mine with a 2012 F150 Ecoboost and he's pulling his with a 2012 GMC Sierra. Both trucks pull this trailer with no problem.
  • A poll on here determined the average RVer adds 1200 pounds over manufacturer dry weight. Families and full timers add more, while 1-2 people on short trips add less. Also, many manufactures do not incldue optional equipment and mandatory optional equipment in the dry ratings. My TT came in at 300 pounds over the brochure weight for example.

So, 6k dry, you should plan for 7k loaded. That's really close to your tow rating. What axle ration do you have? How about payload per the tire and loading sticker on the driver's door? With a family in the cab, some camping gear in the truck bed, half tons usually run out of payload to also support 900+ pounds of tongue weight.

7k loaded TT is about the happy top end for most half tons. If you have 3.55 or 3.73 axle, then you should be okay. Tow in 3rd gear on the highway. Use Tow/hail mode if available. Expect to slow down on hills and kick down to 2nd gear at 3500-4500rpm occasionally. Get a WDH with integrated sway control. Enjoy camping!
