Going back to my original reply I can help out on a part time bases, maybe a couple of people can share in keeping up the TCTR. I know some of the TCTR links won't open in the TCTR anymore.

I know I asked this a while ago - but then was able to struggle on for a while. It looks like my access is getting even worse.

So, given it is a year on from my original request - does anyone fancy taking over the updating of the trip reports sticky from me? It should be pretty easy to keep it up to date now.

Steve, it would be awful to lose your participation in the forum! Editing the TR section is one thing -- you have done a great job but someone else can follow in your footsteps. But I would hate to miss YOUR trip reports and posts

Would it be a good idea for several of us to message admin about this international access thing, so they can see that we value our overseas members? Who would we write to?

Yep, the 100 edit limit is why I have only been updating the sticky every quarter. I update my local word document every few days whenever I check the forum, but then only copy that to the sticky every quarter.

Yes, as Silversand said, weather has been amazing here in Norway. We are planning to do some ice climbing tomorrow, but the weather has gone cloudy and windy - maybe our luck has run out here at 61 degrees north - a continuation of 26 celcius at this latitude may have been too much to ask for.

Loads of pictures and videos - so will try to put together a trip report and video in July.

Glad to know I'm thinking in the right direction of how things could work with shared roles. Have already thought about the corporate legal aspects and come up with a couple options for a shared role solution that will make the legals happy. Been reading the forum guidelines and plan to talk to the great admins before stirring a hornets nest (at least, that's the plan).

Didn't know about the edit limit, but figuring just doing an update once a month would mean we could have about eight years before we would run into the edit snafu. Little bit of lag time between a trip report posted and added to the TR sticky, but less than a month shouldn't be a big problem in the least. Thanks for letting me know and saving some headaches.

OK, back to the question. Steve pretty much nailed the process. When I was the TR admin, the "Sticky" resided inside my RVnet account; so, unless I wanted to share my password with the new Trip Reports admin (tantamount to giving the new TR administrator access to all my personal PMs), a new TR person will have to continue with TRs under their RVnet account.

Now, after pondering this, IF multiple TR administrators wanted to pool their efforts together (say, share/schedule the editing duties), perhaps a new account could be opened, and a shared password could be created for that specific project. However, when you think about the RVnet participant's responsibilities as "Forum citizens", having multiple participants on one account could be fraught with potential negatives (I'm playing the part of a corporate legal).

Anyhow, in my mind, the easiest transition, may include Steve's master text document to the new admin/editor; the new person could then ease into the role, then change the format eventually to personalize the TR....

The only open-pit mine I have been able to find in operating the TR, is the 100 edit limit to any individual Post (I think this is a CFM scripting thang; but I never pursued a "ticket" to the site Administrator to look into the matter).

Steve has been a most organized, tech-savvy, innovative and reliable Trip Reports admin. If I was head-hunting a Forum admin for a large corporate client, he would be the primary candidate. Thanks Steve for all your efforts!
