I didn't see a thread by this name, so I thought I'd start one.

What did you do for your travel trailer recently? What new gadget, modification or kindness have you shown to your trailer lately?

I got a Camco Tri Leveler leveling block and I also bought a Camco RV Water Filter and a new front porch mat

My husband took out the cabinet under the tv that wasn't being used and put in a fireplace! Also, we went on our first trip with this camper in June and first shower I knocked everything on the little shelf off with my elbow. When we got home we ordered a shower rod that comes out more when we shower and when we are done we can push it in for the illusion of more room. Also put a spring rod in back of shower to hang washrags or other unmentionables to dry. Got rid of the shower curtain it came with and got a clear one with pockets. Much more organized now! My husband bought some plexiglass, cut it to fit the skylights, put shade film on them and replaced screws with mirror holder screws. Keeps a lot of the sun glare. Little by little we are adjusting things in the camper to suit us!

Bought a bunk ladder so my 7 year old can get in his bunk easier, and added a solar powered vent cap/fan for the black tank vent pipe. Our bathroom has an odor no matter what chemical we use in the black tank. RV dealer said "welcome to an RV bathroom, a lot of them smell a little".
Hopefully creating a constant negative pressure in the black tank will solve it.

We had the same problem, don't let them tell you that, it isn't so. There is a pipe under our sink that had a cap on too tight. Also, how often is it used? We discovered the pipe from the toilet to the black tank wasn't direct and the waste was catching. So, now when we clean the black tank we use a high pressure wand each time. Now the smells are gone.

Mike, I like the look of those speakers. Where did you buy them?

eBay

They sell them in White and Black. At the time I purchased these(four years ago), White was the only color available.

Over the weekend, I replaced the factory 50 watt outside speakers with 150 watt BOSS Marine speakers. The sound quality is very much improved.

Note to the Sound Police. I do have respect for my camping neighbors. So, I adjust the sound accordingly.

I regress, the best thing I did for my camper is the new vacuum I bought. The Shark Navigator NV26, small size, great cleaning power for dog hair and sandy kids!

My DH made me a terrific pots and pans drawer under the dinette seat. He is now making another, longer one for the other side. Best upgrade he's made so far.

Added an on board genset and got rid of the horribly uncomfortable dinette.

Started by adding a 44x48 door from Arizona RV slavage so I could load in my Kayaks.
Added a used Honda EV4010 with 80 hours on it.
Used Genny door from Arizona RV salvage with a Hoffman louver panel (had in the garage)
Moved the water heater to under the bathroom sink from the new genset location.
Added a pressure tank from an RO system so the toilet can be flushed at night without the pump.
Installed Lowes unfinished 30" base cabinets. Top is an Ikea "Galant" Black Brown table cut to fit.
Couch is a used jacknife sofa recovered in Ultraleather.
Perfect!

The battery switch idea is really great. I have one and it really saves on the battery when the trailer is in storage.
in the few short months we've owned our trailer, I had already gotten tired of removing the battery cable, putting it back on, removing it, etc. I'm thinking the switch is going to be very convenient.

I always leave my TT plugged in to keep battery up and produce a little heat to keep things dry been doing it for years. Costs little and never have a musty odor in the TT.
We leave our TT plugged in most of the time, too, but it shortens a battery's life to always be on a charge. Our 19 year old converter just charges. It doesn't have a maintenance feature.
