Get an E350 with the V10. You will be over rear axle and GCWR on a 3/4-ton van with that size trailer.

May we assume the van body will be fitted out with racks and bins for tools and parts? If so, there is a good chance that you will be at or over the GVWR in a short time ("stuff" accumulates, y'know).
If it were me, I would go with a one ton diesel.
