What flavor of toilet chem is your favorite?

Howdy,
Been RVing for many years (about 47). In our recent past ,say 6 or 8years we ave been using the Walex Bio-active holding tank stuff. We get this from Campers World and then they get us. We always pay more than we think this stuff is worth and are wondering if there are other less expense places to get stuff (no, we do not shop at WM, it personal).

What do you use and where is it available. Oh by the way we are on the road or at a park for many months each year. So it you know of something that works on a regular basis (not camping but a few weeks a year) you know where as we drain the tank every 8 to 10 days,that would be us.

OdorLos. I buy it from Amazon because it's less expensive.

We used it in our boat tank and now our Lance 1685... come to think of it though, I've never noticed an odor, so maybe we should switch to water!

Love the idea of the "washing machine" to clean out the blackwater tank while driving, maybe we'll try it this morning!

Twice I have run into a CG, usually a State Park, that was experimenting with converting to an environmental friendly Dump system. First I used a non-formaldehyde bio-friendly mix, the last time they requested an even more chemical specific blend. The technology is still being developed.

I suspect that in a few years the toilet chem industry will offer the latest eco-friendly products.

I use the drop in packets and a cup of Murphy's oil soap. On short trips, as suggested, I will just use water.

I prefer bacon or a good hot chili. Some "flavors" get there quicker than others.

Cascade dishwasher liquid. Using it for years. No problem with half a dozen squirts of it.

I use drop-ins from Walmart. I use the blue stuff and a couple of gallons of water between trips.

No additives needed - not to make it smell nicer or to break down the solids...

Even when peering down the toilet to see if the tank is clean/empty when dumping, you should barely smell anything, provided the fan isn't running.

Seals, vapor barriers work so no need for anything but water

News flash! When you step on the pedal to flush its a "straight open shot to the black tank" unlike your residential toilet that has a p-trap to it that is a barrier to the sewage pipe.

And if you are where you need to break camp to dump it means a WHOLE lot to have good chemicals in your tank in between dumps. :W

I'm a strong Christmas person. I use pine scent because every time i get up it smells like someone craped a Christmas tree

I've always just used the cheapest dish soap and fabric softener. Normally I just get whatever's at the dollar store. It works just fine.

Walex Porta-Pak in the black tank, Walex Elemonate in the Grey, and once in awhile Walex Commando. Since I service my tanks at home using a FloJet Waste Macerator pump I also Geo the tanks with detergent & Calgon powder. Never have tank odours and the monitors, though I don't pay much attention, seem to work as intended. :B

I never use toilet chemical. It's mostly a huge waste of money on short weekend trips.

If I take a week+ long trip, I will use it.
