So we have owned our 2012 NL 10-2 for just over a year now. Work got in the way earlier this summer so we didn't get to camp much until late this summer-early fall. So our big trip was a two week journey from OH to the Tetons, Yellow Stone, Custer, and home. We had a GREAT TIME! My question is for those of you that have had a NL, what was the next truck camper you purchased and why? Was it to get a slide or other reason? Just curious and thought I would throw the question out there. Thanks.
You can piss away a lot of cash searching for the perfect camper. Buy one, fix it up the way you want it, and learn to lot the one you've got. We're in our eleventh year with our first camper and it's still great.
I went to from a NL to a camplite 10.5 NL had a great fit and finish but the shower has a small opening. We like the Camplite because of the interior design has more room and more headroom in the bunk, also made of aluminum, no wood so no rot, like that idea, both are great TC's but even with the things I don't like in the camplite I would still order another one. Lightweight at 2300 LBS for a hardside even though the NL was 1700 LBS a 9.6' I would still go with a camplite, but don't get me wrong both are great campers liked them both, before that had a 1977 I think it was a fleet something hardside, no comparison.

Hopefully INSP1505 will reply, or you might send him a personal message. I believe he went from an AF1150 to a NL and then back to an Arctic Fox. He might be able to talk about them.
I bought a used NL. Didn't want the complications of a slide, something else needing maintainence, plus adds weight. Wanted light weight. Didn't want anymore seams than I had to have so fiberglass clamshell. Went to watch them be made, and planned to order one, but new one had too long (3mos) wait time, so I bought used. I also think I have more storage than the new ones, but, unfortunately it is a taller with a deeper basement. Used NL are hard to find in our area, but see quite a few on the road.
I think my reason not to buy one is probably the same type of reason to switch. I got a slide instead of a Northern Lite because Northern Lite didn't make a floor plan that was as open as a slide.

I haven't owned a NL, but I would like to. But, I like side entry truck campers, which I don't think NL makes. Other than that, the fiberglass design is the pinnacle as far as I am concerned.
