Hello, I'm new here. Haha well not so much, but I feel new since it's been awhile.

And with the way things are happening on the web right now I'll not be using Photobucket to post directly to rvnet, sadly. Not even any intro pics. Maybe another time if there is one, I'll have my own hosting site and be able to resume doing business the old way.

In the meantime I have to say how great it is to have our oldest daughter and her family finally move here to Meridian Idaho. I've not seen the little twins for over a year and boy a lot happens in a year when you're that young.

They live with us temporarily while they buy a house, and what a treat it's been. For Lynn and I it's like re-living the past with two little girls, only we can turn these two over to their parents lol. And there's the beauty of it.

So I hope you take a gander, and have a fabulous weekend.

Dave Rogers

Whazoo, you know, you can always do what I do :). I got a free wysiwyg editor for my PC that has as one of its functions, an HTML to BBCode converter.

I then write my entries on my blog, and cut and paste the entry contents into the editor, which makes handy BBCode for RV.net and other forums so I can paste the contents, photo links from blogspot and all into the post :).

Also, windows live writer is wonderful for composing the entries offline before uploading them onto the blog ;).

OK look, I apologize for not doing better at responding. Right now, in life, I see nothing great about my, my, my replies. But I do thank every one who reads and responds because we ARE friends through shared experiences, real or vicariously. Not just nuts and bolts either lol. My term for the 99.9% every day but very important post on this forum.

Thanks nomadictxn, I am so fortunate to be witnessing, again yet different, kids being kids. My wife and I , like everyone else, are so enamored with children. Extra so when they have our blood in their veins.

GpnAZ, Mark and Sue! Big time lucky man I am. Grand kids, family, friends, it's all there. I'm in good company Mark, with you and so many others. Have a great trip to Alaska my friend, and update us often...

Camper Jeff! You, good buddy, can out-do me with puns, jokes and metaphores. I've always appreciated your notes and none more than now. Best to you and Kelli, thanks Jeff,

Ah NCWriter, Thanks for sharing my feelings, this one was indeed extra special. I can only hope for more.

Mr. Brewster, This is the one and only time I'll agree with someone that says, "awesome pics."
And also agree about needing a bigger Gramper lol. Thank you...

Hi Busskipper, No kidding about 3-5-8 and gone. And we are doing the best we can to appreciate every minute. Wish like heck we could put these times in a bottle, open it even now and then. Thank goodness for pictures and videos. Happy Days to you...

Geewizard, Howdy Bob! Hey for allergies I hear you need to take some of what ails ya haha. Thanks Bob, but I don't get the Mary Kitchen Roast Beef Hash. Guess I'll have to try it sometime instead of Dinty Moore.

Bryan ol friend, So true, life can't possibly be better, funny how that works out. It's great to hear from you, watch out for those stealth campers hah.

TCINTN, Hey Ed, I sure hope you and Sandra are still getting around ok, giving fishing lessons, camping and all. Not to mention giving your endless help to others in need. This is one of those times to say "I can only follow your footsteps" with Grand Kids. And I plan too as best I can Ed. Best to you both.

Howdy jmtandem, Haha, No you didn't miss much. Phoenix to Durango for ten months then back to Phoenix because grand baby Zoe had so many health problems to start life. We almost lost her twice her first month. Then at a year and a half she ran out on the asphalt in July and burned the daylights out of her feet. My daughter said they wanted to move. Lynn and I were all over that and moved to Meridian just put of Boise. The kids did just move here two months ago and are living with us a few more weeks till their house closes. It's all good now until, well it's all good now. Thanks for checking in, I"m not moving again lol.

Hey there Cal! I have not tried posting links from my website yet, but I do think of using my GrandWhazoo.net domain soon. I'm a bit tired of the internet right now what with photobucket and all. Maybe when we're snowed in again this winter. And I don't know about that "before and after" personal photo thread Cal, I figure it as God's cruel joke to a guy like me that loses his hair when he started with so much. See ya Cal.

Tiger Tiger, This is a great day for me, I'm glad to read your note. No doubt, this was our very best trip in a camper because of two little girls. Lynn and I will be lonely next time for sure. Tiger, I sure hope you're well and getting in some trips of your own.

Hey punomatic, I'm glad to hear of your trips but know what it feels like to have them so far away. My wife and I weren't sure the kids would follow us, it took that over a year. A year that I didn't see the twins, it was tough. I'll hope we both get more, thanks so much for your reply.

traveler, Hi Alex ol buddy! I'm so glad we agree about this being the best TR I've ever done, I'll never top this one. Happy Trails to you and Julie!

Howdy Joerg, Thanks for your reply and I sure hope you enjoy your new camper, you deserve it.

Holla Jefe! Haha, G-parent-dum, I like it. Personally I fit the "dum"best of all. I hope you know Jeff, we hope to see you again some time. I've never heard a guy sing for his supper like you do and we sure like you and Jeannie's company. See ya Amigo.

Hi coolmom, Isn't it true "As good as it gets?" And all the people said "Amen." Thanks very much!!

cougar55, It's great to hear we have a big part of life in common. Those dogs are funny aren't they? And the kids/twins, priceless. Thank you.

Oregun, It's so true, "perfect spot, double the fun, rich man." And fortunate to know it. Cheers!

1handyhubby, So many folks take grandkids camping, we're in good company with you. Thanks!

Freep, Actually those were not cliff swallows but bridge swallows. I know, I was there hah. Thanks for the info, binoculars are always with us.

I apologize I should have done this sooner, I'd be gone by now. Thanks so much again, we've had a blast and know we're not Gramping alone. Time for this GramPa to hit the hay...

Señor Kohldad, Thank you thank you, you did hit it on the head with "happy place." Especially now that kids are here with us. Please do visit Idaho, it's more than we expected but every open field is currently being built upon, sadly. We have moved five times as adults trying to leave maddening crowds behind. We do seem to pick the next best place yet I can't see moving again, there's no place left to go and we couldn't do better anyway. The camping is, as you see, wonderful. Thanks again Amigo!

Glad you have found your happy place even if it does move around with the girls. Rent-a-kids that you are expected to spoil are wonderful and will help keep you young.

Your report sure has moved Idaho up on my to-visit list. Thanks for making it seem so perfect. Or maybe it was the perfect grand kids?

Hi Waz, Linda and I have wandered much with our Grand Kids. Alaska, Florida Keys. Disney World (The Best) etc. We say the reason for the special relationship between grandchildren and grandparents is that they share a common problem, the parents!

Those birds are cliff swallows. All species of swallow are protected by federal law. This particular species flies from South America every year to nest and eat our bugs. They eat tons of bugs. This time of year you can also find chimney swifts in the US and Canada. At the end of summer they congregate and roost in large numbers in larger chimneys on their way back to Peru. When they come back to the chimney at dusk to roost we call it a swiftnado. It's a pretty spectacular sight when you find a big flock going down a chimney, so keep your eyes open.

What great sites you have found.

Wonderful. We always enjoy your posts but this one is special. We also have twin granddaughters-now 11 - and a dog that will spend all his time standing in the water. Camping with the twins is a special joy.

Whaz,
You are indeed a lucky man. I'm glad you have some pics to show of your adventures in G-parent-dum. Even without your witty titles, the pics still tell the story.
Hope to see you and Lynn down the road.
