Where are the detectors?

I put most of the finishing touches on winterizing our Rockwood Roo 23SS earlier today. This was our first year with this model, so there are still a few things to learn ... like the location of the detectors! :-)

I took the battery out of the smoke detector, but I sheepishly have to admit that I didn't find the CO2 and/or propane detectors anywhere. Where are those detectors hiding?!?
  • Thanks everyone ... found the rectangular detector (not the round one like on our previous camper!) in the dinette area. All is good now!!!

My CO detector looks like a second smoke detector on the ceiling. Under the slide if the slide is retracted. LP detector on mine is to the left of the power center near the floor. Powered directly from the house battery so there's nothing to do with it.

Disconnect the house battery before storing the trailer.

The propane detectors don't usually look like a normal smoke detector... usually a rectangle about the size of an outlet with a small glowing light or two, down by the floor some place.

  • What are the two small black items.......
One is on end cabinet by sofa and other is on front of cabinet by kitchen sink??
  • They are usually low down....ours are below the fridge. It's white plastic, rectangular in shape....but they do come in different shapes...not sure what you have?
Battery is probably tied into the 12VDC system...so you wouldn't be changing the battery, the way you would in a smoke detector.
    Good luck:)
