TT is in the yard and I have visited, putting away things from last trip. that said, I did make a trip where I tried to stay in a camping cabin rather than a hotel, but couldn't find one where I needed to go. Friday afternoon headed up to northern end of state (200+ miles) and spent the night in the motel. Sat Am after a quick visit to the Coleman outlet store, picked up my son's car from garage, that retrieved and repaired after it quit on him last weekend, and then made the return trip home with the two of us in seperate vehicles for another 200+ miles.

On the trip up, got in a slow down on I75 in construction zone with traffic moving a fast 10 mph. Not sure if there was a wreck, or just people driving very slowly.. no sign of wreck or actual construction work or anything..

On the return trip, we got caught in a shutdown of hwy due to fatal wreck, managed to get off at the last exit before the wreck and make a detour. Thank goodness for GPS that can adjust for things like that wreck. The southbound section on I75 was closed for several hours for that wreck. then a bit of slowdown less than 20 miles from my exit.. entering the construction zone I struggled through the day before.

The traffic is why I avoid traveling (especially with TT) on holiday weekends, and why I avoid I75 as much as possible. Always crazy traffic on I75 and I am a nervous wreck by the time I get where I am going.

We generally avoid holiday camping, but really miss going out. Our camper is at the dealer to try once again to seal a leak. Two years old and the dealer has had it more than we have. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Cherry Hill Campground near Washington DC visiting our nation's capital. Just finished a Lincoln Assassination walking tour. Very interesting.

I think I would do the same if I were retired...go camping on Sundays for normal weekends and come home on Thursdays. For a weekend like Memorial Day, I would go on Monday or Tuesday.

We don't go out on holiday weekends! Camp during the week as much as possible!

I'm going somewhere the Feds have not yet absconded for "environmental concerns", my back yard. Where I am grilling environmentally unfriendly protein on my non-EPA approved grill while wafting copious amounts of CO 2 into the atmosphere. This will be accompanied by non-organically grown vegetables and alcohol consumed from non-recyclable containers.
Have a great weekend and remember those have have defended our right to b**ch. Someone has to.

I avoid long weekends, they are for working stiffs. They should be banned. Last weekend was a long weekend in Canada next weekend is one in the states. Too many people tying up camping spots that should be at work paying for my pension.
