Ordered a 2019 F-350 with the 6.7 diesel. Trading my Triton V-10 gas.
I always used Valvoline. Never had an oil issue.
Never had a diesel. There are several brands of oil out there You guys are the experts. What oil do you use?. Is synthetic my only choice?
Thanks in advance

Been using Delo since around 1988 for ALL of the diesels I have. Be them 2, 3, 4 or V8's! Got some Rosmella with the boat. Did not believe the rosmella name, now I know why its called that. Served original owner of boat for 20 years, boat is still going strong 35 years later!
As noted, get something that meets spec! If you are on the road, and you need oil, version you like is not available, add what ever flavor is. Have not had issues with any gas or diesel adding a quart of a different brand!

Your money, not mine!

Any CJ oil that’s not also CK rated is okay as long as it meets viscosity spec. CK oils need to meet the Ford lubrication spec. You can see Ford’s position statement and a list of approved brands in the link below. I don’t think Delo or Valvoline are listed at this time.

Ford Diesel Oil

Valvoline is on the list, but delo and delvac are not which is why I didn't recommend them.

The bottom line is to use an oil that meets Ford specs.

I use Delo 400 SDE that goes on sale for $28 for three 1 gallon jugs. It meets Cummin's specs but not Ford's. Delo 400 is API CK-4/SN which they claim in their marketing that it provides up to 50% better wear protection than API CJ-4. Ford recommends CJ-4 and not CK-4/SN for some reason, so go figure.

Looks like your choices mostly come down to one of the Rotella oils or Motorcraft.

Rotella is good stuff. I like synthetic in the diesel. Makes for easier winter starting and lasts a long time. It does not wear out.

Rotella, Chevron Delo or Motocraft is what I used in our fleet at work. Walmart usually has the best prices on oil.

I've used Delo, Shell Rotella and Valvoline diesel oil. All seem to be about the same based on Blackstone lab reports, so it's "are any on sale?" when I need to change oil

The best oil, to me, is which ever one is on sale. As long as the oil is approved for diesel use it doesn't matter which oil you use.
