- IvylogExplorer IIIThe dumbing of America...jack on the frame as someone might not jack near the spring and bend the axle. :S

u said yours is a single - doughboyExploreri've been camping for over 40 years and on dual or tandem axles, i have always used the leveling blocks if you have them.
loosen the lugnuts on the flat tire. stack the levers, pull or back on the good tire till the flat one is off the ground. you'll have to go higher to allow for the tire with air in it. no sense carrying more than u need to.

Guys, read what the OP posted from his owner's manual, same thing that my owner's manual says. Frame heights vary, I need to crib a couple layers of 4x4's under my bottle jack to get the height I need at the frame, so I have enough extension in the jack to get the tire off of the ground.
Every ones manual says that. If manufacturer said it's okay to jack under the axle, some people would jack in axle center to lift whole trailer.:E Using under spring perch, or near u-bolts will not cause harm, and only needs to lift about an inch or two. You have to do a lot of lifting of the frame, before tire clears the ground. If you are actually raising the whole trailer for service, yes, use the frame, but not necessary to just change a single flat tire.

You can use it under the spring perch because it collapses to only a few inches or under the chassis frame. One jack does both. If you choose a bottle jack a flat tire drops the axle sometimes only a few inches off the ground depending on your location (soil) and tire rim size.A bottle jack may be hard to fit underneath and might be a little wobbly.
- IvylogExplorer IIISame jack as the tow vehicle with blocks if necessary. Jack under the axle as close to the inside of the spring or under the spring.
- 77rollalongExplorerbottle jack works great under the axle, though you may run into clearance issues on some with the top of the tire fitting between the body of the trailer and the drum/ hub asmbly ,best to try it at home to r&r the wheel before you get a flat on the highway, and having a some 2x8's or 2x10 for under the jack is not a bad idea to have even when using the stabilizing jacks under the corners when parked in a camp ground..

I would also use a hydraulic bottle jack. Make sure it is short enough to fit under the place you will put it.

Ditto, but also make sure it is TALL enough.... my 8T bottle jack barely reaches the bottom of the frame at full extension, so some 4x4 cribbing is needed to get adequate lift to get the tire off of the ground.
Also a good idea to have a piece of 2x8 or something to put under the jack since bottle jacks will sink in on soft ground.
Whatever you get, test it in the driveway so you have everything you need before you hit the road.
Get a good LUG WRENCH too, the TT lugs may not be the same size as the TV....
I was planning on having some sort of support for the jack to keep it stable and from sinking into ground.
The manual says to use frame support which runs length of trailer just inside tire. I'll have to do some measurements to ensure i can get it low enough and high enough - I was hoping someone had that experience already. I'll post what i find when i can get it tested (less than ideal weather to do that in immediate futures). but will be done well before a trip.
