Who makes reasonably priced, lightweight, non-slide campers?

It used to be Lance but no more. Only two non-slide models and only one for a long bed full size truck?

Doesn't anyone make a long bed sub 2000# camper anymore? (Not talking about pop-ups like 4-Seasons).

I liked the 815 and I've been given info by Lance that they're developing something meant to replace it due out in August or thereabouts. Meanwhile, I've been keeping my eyes open for a later used one.

I'd add my voice to the others: find the nicest used Lance 815/835 you can and buy that. Lance made a ton of them over the years so a little patience will yield result.

Look at Northstar TC's, well built and priced right.

Lance 825 and 865 models put you at a weight weight of around 2200 lbs. and for lighter than that you need to go to a popup. Newer models are made lighter and that means greater cost - true for travel trailers too.

The way to save money is to by used as was mentioned. We bought a very little used 2008 camper in 2011 that had we bought the same model new would have cost twice as much. Part of the difference was it being used and part of it was that new camper prices had jumped a lot in cost.

The AF 865 is a nice camper, but I wouldn't want to put one on a pre 2011 GM 2500 truck. They are actually a tad longer than the AF811 (which is what I have).
Granted, people put them on 2500 trucks, but I wouldn't, because it would be overweight on a GM 2500 truck prior to the 2011 model year.

I would look at a Northern Lite. They have a number of campers that will fit your weight requirements. They are not cheap but they are well built.

when I purchased my Wolf Creek at apache camping center I asked Ed the guy who did our walk through what he thought was the best built camper they sell and what camper in his opinion was overall best and he said pastime.

Even over northern lite? Or did he mean in the comparative
price range?

Yeah even over northern lite, I asked him the same thing. The pastime campers are built like tanks and they even cover every screw with a plastic cap.

Frankly, I'd never buy a new camper. There's just too many good deals on craigslist. Just a little care and you can save several thousand dollars. If you stick with 8-8.5 footers you will almost always be in the weight range you want. Personal preference though. Some folks just don't like used...I feel that way about vehicles ๐Ÿ™‚

2015 wolf creek 840 is listed as 1992 lbs dry weight, but there will be some options you want.

The one I just bought had something like 2300 lbs listed on the sticker.

You can still find the Lance 815 TC it is made for both long bed and short bed trucks. I missed out on one last fall a 2009 for $12900. We ended up buying a 2010 Lance 825, and we absolutely love it, cant wait till spring. Good Luck with your search.

CSG, if you're going to call Apache Camping Center in Everett tomorrow you might want to talk to them about the Artic Fox 865 they have along with the Pastime you were told about in an earlier post by tonymull.

REASONABLY priced,,hahahahaha. Well, less expensive maybe, nothing new is very reasonable for average blue collar type working stiff. But there's something out there somewhere for most everyone's discretionary budget. Set your number and then look, look, look. Find what suits YOU best on all fronts. And best of luck in your hunt.
