With all of the virus stuff, I am certain we are all tired of being stuck at home by now. I've been stir crazy for months now and ready to hot the road. In the midst of planning my own summer time road trip with the family, I've been wondering what type of crowds I should expect at National Parks and campgrounds. My initial thought was it would be a low traffic season with people wanting to avoid others but I've started to hear some rumours that places are already very busy after reopening. So, how many of you are looking at traveling this summer and what changes are you making because of the virus / restrictions?

I have been pulling a trailer with my Polaris RZR to a few offroad destinations. They fill up on the weekends but are generally empty during the week. I may go on a few week trip to Moab. Not too worried about the pandemic with a camper loaded with food and supplies. Even a grocery stop or two wouldn't be too bad. I just keep a box of gloves and rotate through my cloth masks for stops. After shopping I toss the gloves on the back floorboard then after a week or so, reuse them. Put them on when I get out of the truck, take them off before reentering my vehicle.

I already did on day trips. My plans for the spring was few days at Valley of Fire but, campground closed and now it is too hot to go there. Summer plans were Lake Powell, so I wait impatiently for Lone Rock campground to open. Getting the boat re-registered with offices closed is another adventure.Our patio boat has full enclosure, so the idea is to pack food, booze and dogs on it and hit the lake. With 93 canyons there is lot of space for isolation. EDIT. This topic made me recheck and Lone Rock Beach campgrounds seem to be open.Time to start packingThan with epidemic on high rise, who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Spent last week traveling around central Pennsylvania staying at state parks. I got by without reservations Mon, Tues, Wed, but made reservations for Thur, Fri, Sat. Glad I did - the two parks I stayed at were full!

Spent three nights middle of May tooling around central Washington..camping on fire roads. Spent 6 nights in the Peninsula area week before last. Even ate a normal meal at a restaurant. lol, Inslee would not have been impressed by the following of his orders. Dog and pony show is seen for what it is.A couple of nights in Moses Lake; working on some property, last week.And just pulled in from two nights in Westport..and a giant chest of Ling Cod. Limited easily each day, pulling 3 dragons on Friday.. 40+ inches each. Awesome.Ate out last night too.. full house, busy place, great food and experience. The locals aren't buying it either. Glad to see. If anyone is going to protest something, it should be the continued repression of the economy. This has been, and continues to be, nuts.If you are someone that is compromised, then act accordingly. Otherwise, go travel... it's good for you and good for the economy.

I've got my first camping reservations that might not get canceled (the first one was cancelled by the state last month), so I'm going... I'm just going to have a little common sense about it all and not think it's some spring break or demonstrating deal! :)I don't think it's going to be like last year, or even 4 months ago...I'm in an age group that should be concerned, and my wife is even older (don't tell her I said that!) so just gonna mostly see what other's around me are doing and go from there... I'm not going out of state or going to go on any cruises or even take a **** bus, but I'll have as much fun and deal with the new world as our elected officials see fit... :)Good luck! Mitch

Just finished a 3,000 mile trip down the Alcan Highway from Eagle River AK to southern Idaho. I had to go through the Canadian Customs travel restrictions proving why it was an essential trip and not make any unnecessary stops except to gas and sleeping in roadside pullouts (provincial campgrounds were closed to Americans).

Most of my trips were return trips that we booked a year ago, covid canceled my April & May trips. June, July & Aug we either did some long weekend and one 9 day trip.

Sept were doing a return trip to Cape Cod with the exception that I booked to late for my favorite campground to get a reservation. So now were going to take a chance on a corporate owned campground, hoping for the best as the reviews are so so.

Oct were heading to Trap Pond State Park, DE and then onto Assateague State Park, MD

My friend went camping to Yosemite couple weeks ago and had hard time to make it back as roads closed due to fires.
What else will disrupt our life this year?

Don't know what direction to go to be safe...so just going to park on the Susquehana river and watch the water flow by. Safe travels

I have gone 5 times for short trips, longest was 2 weeks. Leaving tomorrow for a few days----I just stay away from people as much as possible.

Heading up to Wyoming In September for a week or so to camp and fish at Glendo and Seminoe reservoirs. I haven’t had the camper out in over 3.5 years so I’m reeeeeeally looking forward to it. I’ll post a trip report and a more formal intro then.

On the road now for more than 2 weeks.. a long way from Alabama and Florida.. Just left Montana forest service .. "Jimmy Joe" CG- Wonderful by the way and roaming around Montana NF. Ahhh...
