The soon to be SIL purchased a 2004 Thor 21' travel trailer. I've been a member here for 15+ years. I told him to get advice here before buying a trailer. Guess what?
Well, I went by yesterday to drop off my grand twins. From 30 feet away I can see the small waves of delamination on the front of the trailer. The closer I got....not one square inch of the filon siding was attached to anything. I couldn't even feel the luan under the skin. The sides were nice. The back? Right where the tub is, all the plywood was completely dry rotted away. Couldn't even feel the studs. I didn't want to climb on the roof. I was afraid of what disaster might be awaiting up there. I told my daughter to get rid of it as soon as possible, while the market was still robust. Next time....they better drag me along.

Nowadays, a lot of people have to learn the hard way, part of their evolution. Then again, some never learn.

My daughter is like that. We can tell her something that's common sense to us, tell her 20 times, and maybe she gets it or maybe she doesn't. More than half the time she'll do something we never would do. I think our son got all (both hers and his own share) of the brains and sense. Kids... they're a roll of the dice.

Is this the same son-in-law who was going to pull the TT with a 4-banger SUV rather than the 7.3 F250 he has? Sounds like more than a "horse and water" issue...

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink
