Winterize and battery ??

That is what I do. Had no problems so far.

Any time a battery is left in a partially discharged state, it is starting to sulphate. The ultimate battery health is achieved by offering a low voltage float charge to the battery, continuously.

True trickle chargers are not good. Automatic tender types are good.

The OPs plan is just fine BUT.....the voltage should be checked before and after each monthly charge just to be sure. You may find that every two months is plenty. Oh, and the disconnect switch should be thrown when it's not charging too.

If you have a typical WFCO converter, not good for the battery to leave permanently connected and on. We found out the hard way and had to replace our Interstate battery after about 2 years old because the WFCO converter killed it (while away on a long road trip). The converter had to be replaced at the same time too 'cuz it failed. Now have a nice Progressive Industries converter.

Get a good battery tender and disconnect the battery from the TT. When you say you turned it off, 120 volts or 12 volts? Your TT will have some parasitic loads like propane detector, radio, etc. that will drain a battery in just days. A simple way to monitor the condition of the battery is with a voltmeter.

We camp every month of the year.....always have. I just blow the lines with air and never worry about the battery.

They have winter in TX?

If I know I'm not going to use mine for the whole winter then I just pull it and keep it on a battery tender.

you could get a horrible freight 45 watt solar kit and it would keep it charged.
mine has worked well for five years.
