I am an extreme newbie. We just purchased a 27ft TT and then purchased a 3 camera wired system on amazon (rear view safety). Took it to the dealer to install, they was $1000 to install and now they say we need to get an extension cable to reach into our truck. I am having doubts now. Should I just return and get the wireless and save the money or stick to the wired and pay the money and order a cable? I thought I bought the correct kit but apparently they say this was intended for a true motor home rather than a TT. Any advice?

Most wired systems are intended for motorhomes.The wireless systems work great for towed units.

Spend the extra money on a wireless system.

I bought a cheap wireless unit and got very poor reception, even with a 24' trailer. Worked fine when at the rear of the truck, which is what it was designed for: a vehicle backup camera. But Very poor at 24' behind the truck. Maybe there are others out there that can go the distance, but not all.

I have a wireless backup system. She gets out of the passenger seat to guide me back to the camp site. The main problem with this system is that she likes to stand RIGHT behind the trailer. No matter how many times I tell her, "if you can't see me in the mirrors, I can't see you!" she still likes to be directly behind the camper and I have to adjust the recepction (yell at her)! lol

I have the same one you have but mine is adjustable.

Do you have an iPhone and iPad? I found this app on the ap store: AirBeam.

It allows you to set one as a camera and the other as a receiver. Originally designed as a baby monitor, it has sound as well.

I either have my wife walk to the rear of the trailer and hold the iPhone or I tape it to the bumper... Then I watch the iPad from the drivers seat. Works great. Just remember to retrieve the iPhone after parking!

I think it is available for other smart phones as well.

My wife and I use the Cobra Micro Talk hand held walkie-talkie. Been using them for years.

A radio is the best way, we have used them for many years and work great. The camera cannot see the roof top for branches even if you think they will clear the top.

I'm curious how that works for you when traveling down the highway as that is when mine gets the most use.
