Do any of you have a pair of 6 volts in your battery box? Trying to see if they will fit or if I'm stuck with a pair of 27's.

Get to pick up my camper on Monday! The salesman didn't know if the 6 volts fit but will find out tomorrow, just want to double check so if he says no....I can insist.
  • Yes, they fit. You don't have a ton of room on top for the cable connections, but I was able to do all four of them without any issues. I also placed a piece of wood between the two batteries to keep them tight inside of the box (one battery is strapped down with the factory nylon strap).
  • Awesome, thank you! I'm going to insist on the 6 volts then.
  • Congrats on the purchase! Don't talk to the salesman, talk to the service guys, and should do a walk through with you, they will know a lot more. What an exciting day make sure to check all the caulking, and try and fill the water tank full to make sure no leaks.

Here are my measurements: I have 2 group 29's

  • Thank you sir.

Thanks for the pictures too. I'll be sure to talk with the tech and do a through inspection. Any reason you did not go 6 volt? We boondock 99% of the time. Also, curious about your solar setup and anchor bolt reinforcement. We love your trip reports and videos BTW!

no prob, the only reason I did not go 6 volt was they did not have them at the dealer. I am just waiting until the batteries die and will go with some type of AGM. I have been pleasantly surprised the Interstate Group 29's have handled ALL our power needs and the batteries have never dropped below 80%. With the solar set up and my Xantrex battery monitor I know exactly the % my batteries are at and how much charge I am getting. I am getting pretty much 100% charge everyday (except in winter), where I had to run the genny.

Here is my solar set up thread clcky

the anchor bolt reinforcement was done by Northwood and yours should also have the reinforcement done. I would be curios to know if they have started to do it on all models. PM me if you want more info.

  • Vinsil, make sure you measure your actual battery box. Mine was not as deep as anutami's. I have no idea why they vary, but obviously they do. My measurements: 11.5"H x 16"W x 13"D
