- gboppExplorerIs it a Yamaha generator or, a Yamaha powered generator?
There was a post about the Costco sale earlier today. - Kayteg1Explorer IIAfter paying $150 for 1000 W inverter generator at Home Depot I am willing to believe everything.
Costo is bargain retailer. They always do it. - Kayteg1Explorer II

I agree, it's a good deal.
I have a Simpson Pressure Washer powered by Honda, a very reliable engine. Same as the Yamaha. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIILeave it to Kayteg to sus out the deals...lol
I had a Yamaha powered Yamaha 2800I Inverter and it was solid as a rock. Yamaha builds excellent engines and generators.
I'd say buy a couple before Costo jacks up the price.
Only reason I sold it was it was over 10 years old and I was getting concerned about the old electronics. - GordonThreeExplorerWait a few days and Amazon will have the 2kw WEN GEN on woot.com for $399 ... similar features, $100 savings, free ship if you're an Amazon member.
- jimh406Explorer IIINot a great price for a Yamaha clone. Don't expect it to complete with a Honda.

Here we go again with the Honda phooey...lol
Juice is juice in my view.
Why when I sold my Yamaha I didn't buy a Honda. Overpriced and phooey.
I'd say price wise it beats the holy grail Honda hands down. - kerrlakeRooExplorerAnother thought on those. Some folks in here get all worked up on these genny's and go on about the engines. I don't think I've heard anyone gripe about the H or Y engines, and most folks , with the Champs and other brands have grudgingly started accepting that the clone engines can be functional and have their place in the market. But nobody ever seems to talk about the electronics on these units. Are Red and Blues generators actually made by them? Or are they Chinese or Indian built units?
With it being down to Ford and Chevy sometimes having more foreign parts than domestic's, Where do the components for these come from?
This could well be the same inverter generator portion that's on the Yammy branded models. - Kayteg1Explorer IIGenerator part doesn't require much of design or high-tech manufacturing.
I would put value in engine.
Coming to comments about phooney Honda, I have 20 and 10 years old Honda engines in equipement and they start on the 1st pull after filling them up with fresh fuel.
Brand new Sportsman generator with "OEM Branded" engine will start on 3rd pull ... when I am lucky.
I did own some equipment with B&S engines and ownership always ended with blisters on my hand from rope pulling.
