In The Picture, The New Spring And The Flattened Old Spring.
I've got some work around the house to do, then we'll go for a week or so on a test run camping with the truck and truck camper to see how well all these improvements workout. Just test driving the truck, I can feel a pretty good increase in power. The engine never goes above 174 and is usually at 172 degrees while running a 180 thermostat. That must be thanks to the coolant adaptors on the back of the heads increasing and evening coolant flow throughout the engine, and eliminating the known hot spots at cylinders 4 and 8. I'll bring you the results after our trip.

I hope you enjoy this Truck and Truck Camper related SPAM Video. Made by a truck camper for truck campers.

Addressing a point of contention, Just so people know, my video posts on RV.NET now Good Sam, are inconsequential to my total YouTube activities. There seems to be a negative attitude toward the posting of YouTube videos by some. A video is a far better way to convey information than text and pictures. I've done a lot of text and picture posts for several years on RV.NET before I started doing YouTube. I post here as a courtesy to friends and like minded truck camper enthusiasts. If the views from my YouTube postings here ever earn revenue, it amounts to pennies. The possibility anyone could make a few cents off a video here is a big trigger point for some people. I wanted to bring that issue forward based upon recent and past comments, to make my point.

Be fair, Replacing packed out 300k mile front leafs with new is the vast majority of the improvement.
The fact you put the snowplow package springs on is not really an improvement for a situation where the front axle isnโ€™t being loaded down much if any more than running bobtail.
if youโ€™re hanging a motorcycle or a big generator off the front bumper then I stand corrected. If not, your kidneys must hate you for this mod!

The front left leaf was pretty flattened and had a bit of steel on steel wear on it. The left side of the Truck had a left lean to it. I hope that will be gone after the front springs replacement. This is still a developing story.

or how to install springs so you can handle your 5th wheel trailer a bit better.. see what I mean about the crossover benifit, no one that is looking for a way to get rid of some of the sage when hauling their 5th wheel will ever see this if it stays in here as they think its all about truck campers, where this video has lots of value to 5th wheel haulers also.

It increases vehicle height by 4 to 5 inches so it may not actually be beneficial to fifth wheel users. They typically don't look for ground clearance. Truck Campers, we can use increased ground clearance. So can truck toppers, and tent campers. Travel trailers, not so much either. Any tow vehicle can use better suspension for sure but they would be better lower where the vehicle is less tippy due to height.

To really handle my recent posts on truck mechanical topics and similar posts if any by others, a good solution would be to create a new category, "Truck Improvements, Repairs, Enhancements" That way, anybody from any forum knows where to look for truck mechanical information.

It is Good Sam's forum so do whatever your Moderator training commands.

I was typing a responce yesterday mornign when the power went out for 4 hours fromn a car crash..

anyways I was going to ask you if thoes lifted the truck much, thats about the same lift in bed hight I got switching from my 1999 f250 to my 2014 f350.  no the resort queens don't look for ground clearance but some of the smaller 5th wheels I have seen up here are set up for off road, and they have both the truck and the 5th lifted, otherwise you run out of clearance between the bed rails and the overhang.. I have seen jacked up flatdecks pulling normal 5ths though..  for the most part there isn't a ton of lifted truck campers out here, I see one every now and then as they get limited in there use once you start jacking them.. it usaly the young hunters that have thoes.   Travel trailers is what I see most being pulled by jacked up trucks, its to easy just to add a drop hitch to the truck and away you go.

I did sugest a few name changes as some are pretty confusion and are not intuitive, where some have changed purposes during the migration of the board.  one was for the truck fourm, something like "
all about trucks"  the exact name doesnt matter, what matters is that we clean up a lot of the group names and make it more intuitive on where to post for people.  heck I don't even know where to post my new LiFePO4 build as there is no DIY section anymore the name changed to "DIY Maintenance"  well building a battery from scratch isn't "Maintenance"  and our old "Technology" section has been changed to "Technical issues" and building a battery isn't a "Issue"  so I haven't posted because so many posts just don't fit anywhere.

Great video, I did this to a chevy 3500 rear some years back and it tightened right up with the camper on but road like a 4 wheeler with it off. Nice work, I love stuff like this....
