CB Antennas?

What CB antennas have you guys had good luck with that are short enough to play nice under a truck camper? I'm curious to see the mounting as well. Obviously a 3 foot fiberglass whip won't fit.

I use the Firestik II line, five foot antenna, have a hood gap mount to keep out and away from the camper's nose as much as possible.

On our old lance I mounted two 2' firestik antennas on the top of the ladder.. Since they "saw" each other, they used each other as a ground plane. That setup worked very well.

One of your better options if you dont want to have to move it when you put the camper on and you dont want to do custom is going to be the fender mount. Depending on your truck there will be brackets to either mount to your front fender or the hood hinge bolts.

When I take a CB,I use a magnetic mount on top of the TC....Not very good with branches but reception is usually good...I normally just use a CB walkie talkie these days....

Be that as it may, I don't feel like adding another step to mounting the camper by putting one on it. I do use this truck for more than just the camper, so that's not the only scenario where the CB would come in. Brad how was it getting used to that fire stick in your face all the time?

CB radios are line of sight. Mounting under a truck camper is about the worst place.

I mounted a 5 ft Firestik right in the center of the front bumper on our 2018 F350. Works great.
