Repo a Truck Camper???

I have a 2yo 2018 Travellite 770, I live in it full time (with other option) and still owe $11k. A stilt is falling off, step broke, shower and other things don't work. The thing is more or less totaled. I'm so tired of the endless repairs that I can't afford that I'm prepared to let my credit sink and tell the bank to come get it.
Can they even do that? It's sitting on the ground at the moment. Many Google searches have come up with NOTHING about repoing a truck camper that's on the ground. Also, a stilt isn't working and requires a specific tool to crank. Thanks.

I'm tired of the RV I selected and purchased and don't want to honor my promise to the finance company? Further I'm not adult enough to help the finance company repossess the camper so they won't lose even more money? After all the finance company is a big outfit...its not like I'm hurting a plain old person?

Sounds like a character issue to me.

in that part of the us, the truck camper probably don't have a title. it comes with an MSO, but titles are not needed, which means you might be able to sell it with just a sellers receipt

according to nada guides that 2018 770 camper might have a resale value of $12K unless you have destroyed it. Any thought of listing it for sale? it might be easier to sell it now by providing a proof of purchase notarized to seller, than continue to pay on loan until its done.
you know what a repo will do for you credit, for maybe 7 years or more. Don't forget stuff like car insurance also is related to credit rating, so its going to cost you to walk away. coming up with that couple grand to pay off loan might be cheaper than paying it to the car (and or home) insurance people.

That might not take you off the hook, but at least will minimalize financial damages.
I think repo will stay on your record for 7 years, but it is not my expertise.

Thank you, that was very helpful! I'm going to try, it's just overwhelming because my truck is falling apart as well.

Been in the repo business. Yes we can get it, with a roll back strap around it and winch it on the bed and down the road we go. Might take 5min at 3 in the am. Now you just added $4-500 to what you owe. Where we were they had to hold it 30 days and normally would auction it off. Those things sell for hardly anything. Now you have added storage and the auction cost to what you still owe after deducting what they recovered at the sale. Lender will come after you for awhile then sell it to a collection outfit. The bank 9 chances out of 10 will write the loss off. The collection outfit will hound you for the rest of your life. BUT if you have any assets and the amount is enough the bank will attach everything you have. Best way out is make the payments.

Fix what you can and sell it. What make is the camper?

Edit: I see it in your original post.
NADA guide shows 12.3-12.8k.

I see. Thank you. I think I'm just gonna make the payments and hope for the best with my truck situation.

Perhaps THIS May Be Helpful?

Specific to your state and perhaps they can help more than what you got on this forum.

Already answered...yes, they can take it and yes they can tack on the cost of collecting it to your outstanding debt.

Yes, they can and will repo it. They hire a repo company and they won't care if your personal property is in it or not. They won't care if they damage it or not. They are paid to recover it and take it to the repo yard and get paid.

Yes, it can be repo'd.
I purchased a repo'd camper about 10 yeas ago. The bank took it back and they wholesaled it to a company that is an RV retailer. It was a private company (unlike the larger RV dealers.)

In my case, it was a 2 year old camper that still had value as it was in brand new condition (as in never used.) With the options it had on it, I paid less than half off of what a similar model of current years was going for.

My truck with 333k miles also needs a rebuild so I'm about to have no way to even tow it.

I really think it IS that bad of a product. Some minor things never worked, but now major issues are happening.
