Here is what I did to my old S&S.
Swapped the clear bottom window with the frosted top.
Took down factory valance
Added a trim board
New valance with pull down shade inside
With shade pulled
Then I could raise the shade to look out without opening the door. My present SunLite has the clear glass from the factory with a pull down shade but you can not operate it as it is between the screen door. I just leave the shade up and when I want privacy I open the bathroom door which opens against the entry door. :C
VERY nice! .... and a great idea! I have frosted glass in the top of my door so I don't have this need, but I'd like to swap it out and will do the same thing you did! I have a small clear window on the bottom with an insulated flap that I have to open the door to pull up, but that's not a problem and it's handy for backing up sometimes.
Thanks for the photos! Nice job. :)
