I just pulled my back a few days getting a washer out of a basement and can't imagine shutting mine right now... I'll need to look at my rear for a safe place to mount as we have the 3 season doors. Thinking in the middle of the top with a "Y" hanger to attach at each end. Need to look at the door frame to see if it will handle the stress.Re: Inside Tire Wear? ford truck guy wrote: CapriRacer wrote: ford truck guy wrote: does it look something like this - If so, My Goodyear G614's looked like that as well.. I went to Goodyear and inquired about the issue.. After some looking the manager came up with what they called "Shoulder Step" and deemed it normal for the tire. He even showed me a picture on his computer that looked exactly like my tires. I trust Goodyear, but did not trust that tire wear so I upgraded my stuff to 17.5 G114's and never looked back. What that is is the width of the tread is too wide for the steel belts, so the outer portion of the tread is not as supported as the rest, so it wears faster. It is aggravated by frequent and hard cornering. Nothing to be concerned about except for the appearance. Ultimately it means that Goodyear's design engineers didn't do a great job in the design process. Yes, They told me not to be concerned with mine....... I still upgraded to make Momma happy ! :-) Sometimes I don't tell Momma about things.....ha :)Re: Harley Battery Drains When TravelingThanks for the info. Will check it out. It has to be much easier than pulling the main fuse.Harley Battery Drains When TravelingMy battery always drains during a long trip ( 800 + miles ). I've tried leaving my key fob on the bike so the alarm isn't flashing the lights due to the movement. The only thing that works is to pull the main fuse ( which is kind of a pain ). My buddy's bike does the same thing. Weird.... does anyone else experience this? Any other options besides pulling the main fuse? ThanksRe: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???"Dumped vegetable oil into the tanks to try to loosen up the dump valves." First I've seen this.....work? Mine is sticky which makes me nervous....ha ThanksRe: Truck stops. The larger nozzle is too fast.....not enough time to run into camper and make sure my toilet still works...... lolRe: What size 5th wheel do you pull with 3/4 ton?As usual, you will get plenty of good advice here. Just noting that I have pulled my 35ft TH for 4 seasons and 14,000 miles and have never ( thankfully ) felt like I was under-trucked with my 2012 F250.Re: Motorcycle ChalksI use the Harbor Freight item un-bolted. I don't even pull up the carpeting anymore. Just set the wheel chalk down and load the bike. I do use the tie downs in the front corner. Have only had one issue when I didn't put enough tension on the tie downs in over 10k miles. One strap came unhooked and I found my Street Glide tilted to one side when I got home. Luckily the Harbor Freight item is very strong.....the bike was fine. Lesson learned....make sure to have plenty of tension on the tie downs...Re: Stupidity leads to overflowing Grey Water inside trailerLove the stories....one of the best things about RV ownership....ha Hooked up the water to my black tank flush and turned on. I kept wondering why heard a filling noise inside.....untill my wife screamed out the the toilet was over flowing......luckily we caught it quick and a minimal clean up..ha The scary thing was that I have been RV camping a long time.... not sure where my head was that day. BTW...my clean up lead to another "spill" inside my tahoe when toting the excess black water to the dump area...... just one of those days...Re: Quality control problems - rantI'm not on my fourth trailer/5th wheel. Thankfully I'm a DYI person or I would have spent a lot of time and money...... I love RV camping but would not do it if I had to rely on someone else to do repairs. All this makes me think there is a huge market for a traveling RV repair service when I retire.
