Will keep a close eye on this problem. Thanks again.Re: Ford F450 diesel 4:30 gearsAgree. I have the same truck with 4:88 gear set. The stock fuel mileage empty was 9 Miles/gal, I made a few changes and went to 13-14 miles/gal. Also these trucks weigh close to 10,000 lbs with a full load of fuel and an average sized driver. Can't really expect Prius type mileage when driving a truck that weighs twice as much as a F150! JMHO.Re: rug vs spray in vs slide in linerWhy choose which liner would be best, just get all 3! I have a sprayed in (bought the truck used and it was already there). I didn't really like the look of it and I prefer a "dropin" under rail liner, so I got one. I find them too slippery so I put a rubber bed mat on top of that. So I now have all three!! Talk about "Belt and Suspenders"!! LOLRe: Towing a cyclone 4100I wish everyone would just do as I did. Just go out and buy a '08-'10 F450 with the 4:88 gear set and call it a day. No modifications necessary and you can tow just about anything that's made. Might be just the Martini that I'm currently drinking but it just seems ridiculous, the talk of this single wheel truck, that mega cab, this law suit etc. etc. A cyclone 4100 requires a dual wheel pickup minimum. Just get it over with and buy an F450!Re: Oh No! Ruined theBumper on My New TruckI did the same thing once , but I heard a "weird" noise so I stopped and discovered that the pin was missing. It happens! Now I double check before moving.Re: New trailerNice!! Thanks for the pic, congrats, enjoy, Great looking rig!!Re: Something to think about..LT or ST tires CapriRacer wrote: captainjohn2008 wrote: I just replaced tires on my truck. First shop I visited would only replace with the factory stock tire size, stating liability issues. The next shop I visited and bought tires from put on the size I wanted, no questions asked. I was only going up one tire size, one load range up as well. Far as I can tell I put on a better tire, so what "Liability" issue would there be. First time I encountered this, I'm always changing to a slightly larger tire on my rides. JMHO. I am not a lawyer, but I have meet some very sharp ones in my time - and those can convince Eskimos to buy refrigerators. This would be all about following procedure. As an expert on the subject, I can make a very convincing argument - and I can argue the opposite. The lawyer's job is to convince a jury (or a judge) that doing something non-standard causes issues. Not hard to do. I'm not going to disagree with you as I know these things are different in the U.S. Up here in the "Great White north' these things couldn't be further from our minds. It's just a cultural difference really. I put a higher rated tire on so that's an improvement over factory stock which makes it even safer. Safer, better tires, I think a lawyer, any lawyer would have a hard time convincing a court that what I did was bad. Believe me, I sleep very soundly at night. By the way, we don't use the term "Eskimos" any more they are referred to as "Inuit". Just Sayin.Re: Something to think about..LT or ST tiresI just replaced tires on my truck. Change the oil like clockwork, fuel filters every second oil change and yearly flush the rest of the fluids. The biggest problem with the 6.4 is the way the regeneration of the DPF works, and the EGR cooling system. There are lots of posts on the forums about removing these items and how great the trucks run after these modifications, might have to try it myself one day. Agree! I have one, and have done the mods for the known problems. Truck runs great, better mileage etc. I am not really brand loyal( more of a GM guy really) so I bought this truck based on price alone. Haven't had one single issue yet still on original rad. If I were to it again though, I'd buy something else, since you're in a position to do that, that would be my advise. JMHO.
