Must be one of those rare walnut/sequoia's.Re: How durable is a rubber roof?I wouldn't worry about a few walnuts, a couple years ago our trailer went through a major hailstorm. Most of the "tin" campers were heavily damaged or totaled but ours came through with only a broken taillight. But my truck had over $5000 damage.Re: wheel chocksRemember when your warm tires cool off the x-chocks could get loose and your rig could roll. I know my x-chocks will get loose especially in warm weather, I always check them after the tires cool off.Re: Camping with babiesThanks every one for all the tips. My family cannot wait for camping season to begin and we are looking forward to having fun with the new addition. Thanks again.Re: Pork and Beans1 lg can Bush's Baked Beans 1 lb browned hamburger with an onion fried with it 4-6 slices fried smokey bacon crumbled 1/2 cup ketchup 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 T. worchestershire sauce 2 T. vinegar salt and pepper to taste Mix everything together and bake on low heat or place on grill until warm and bubbly. I've been known to have this for a meal all by itself, goes real good with a cold beverage.Re: Payment of new Camper orderedIf you are purchasing from a RV wholesaler like RV Direct it is common to pay for the trailer before delivery. They aren't really a dealer and don't have the staff like a regular dealer would so they don't want to get stuck with a trailer if a buyer were to back out at the last minute. I bought my 5th wheel through them and have not had any complaints at all. I saved about $5000 vs. buying from a dealer. Oh and by the way I have had not had any problems with service or warranty work through my local dealer like others assume. I would buy from them again.Re: Mt Rushmore & YellowstoneWe enjoyed the Black Hills more than Yellowstone. Yellowstone is a fantastic place but it is such a large area you need to drive several hours a day everyday to see all the highlights the park has to offer and everything is run by the parks dept and is kinda expensive. The Black Hills has a lot more to offer. State parks, national monuments and parks, Reptile Gardens and Bear Country and this list goes on and on. If you can while in the Black Hills think about hiking up to the top of Harney Peak. It is the highest peak east of the Rockies and the view is incredible. Have Fun!!Camping with babiesTwo years ago we bought a Jayco 23.5 5th wheel and it was the perfect size for our family, wife, 14 year old daughter and myself. But now kinda unexpectantly we have added a son who is now 5 months old. This has been a lifestyle change to say the least but we are enjoying every minute of it. We also have a 23 year old daughter too so raising children is not new to us but camping with a baby sure is. So I am looking for a few tips. What kind of toys to bring and where to have them sleep, keeping the bugs from biting them up, stuff like that and maybe a few things I haven't thought of. We do have a pack and play that we can use as a crib too, but floor space is a little limited. I have though about getting a larger camper but I am sure in a few years our daughter will not be joining us on as many trips so this one will be just right once again, just need to get by until then. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!Re: Refrigerator on the slide laknox wrote: highlife4me1 wrote: The only problem I have with the fridge being in the slide is that I have that much further to go to get a cold beer. I solved that problem by bring a cooler that I can put ice and beer in and set it next to my chair. Problem solved! I thought that's what wives/kids/grandkids were for? :-) That works for about an hour or two but then they get smart and I'm usually on my own.Re: Refrigerator on the slideThe only problem I have with the fridge being in the slide is that I have that much further to go to get a cold beer.
