The fridge is fine otherwise, but just a pretty boat anchor if it doesn't chill!Re: Norcold propane/electric fridge is not coolingThanks OB! Doing it now.Re: Norcold propane/electric fridge is not cooling15yrs. From what I've read that could be fine, but that was my concern as well. Maybe it's time.Norcold propane/electric fridge is not coolingHi all, I have a norcold 2dr propane/electric fridge that is not cooling enough on either propane or electric modes, same for both modes. The fins in the fridge are 49 degrees regardless of mode and temp setting between 5-9. Trouble shooting: Turned off fridge on panel and unplugged Ac cord, reset breaker. Checked all fridge fuses even in back panel. Checked roof vent is clear, warm air coming out. Removed and emptied/cleaned propane burner shroud there was some very fine rust. Took everything out of fridge and put in ice chest. Checked 12v and 120v power to everything in back of fridge. We have been parked extremely level for 2 weeks. No ammonia smell in back or inside fridge In Texas so mild winter, 40-60 outside. Does anyone know what else I can check/do?Re: Fresh water tank magically fills itselfYep. For now I turned off the valve on the suction side. I'll be picking up the check valve on Saturday. I pulled the electric from the pump so no one turns on the pump while it's out of service. I think that cheap fix will get us through the summer trip and I'll mess with the pump replacement once I'm back home. Thanks to everyone. Another mystery solved. Rv.net is awesome!Re: Fresh water tank magically fills itselfWhat's the thought on buying a check valve to put on that flex line that should suck water out of the tank instead of filling it? $8 for a brass version at Lowes. If it failed and my pump completely failed then I'd have the same problem, but seems like a good inexpensive fix/insurance for while I'm on the road this summer.Re: Fresh water tank magically fills itselfThanks rusty. I've been under the bunk and I see what you mean. I disconnected the flex line that could fill the tank if the pump check valve failed and put it in a bucket. I ran the sink and the tub to see if it would fail and got not even a drip. Maybe one of the kids had turned the pump on when I got sprayed before. Those rascals cause more than a few minor accidents! I'll play with it some more when my wife is back and note the final verdict. Need to replace the city water anyway, so I'll do that, but it sounds like I need a pump as well.Re: Fresh water tank magically fills itselfYou know the city water connection check valve sprayed me the other day when unhooking. Bet it is the cause. I had to replace the pump about a year ago. So I'm going for the city connection first which I have already bought a replacement for anyway. If it fills again tonight I guess I'll turn off the pump valve and go get a new pump. This forum is amazing! Thank you!Re: Fresh water tank magically fills itselfThanks all! I'll start checking those check valves out!Re: Fresh water tank magically fills itselfI quick note the filling thing seems to happen abruptly as opposed to over a long period of time.
