As to where to jack and how to jack.Re: REFRIGERATOR DRAINLINELet's rephrase "in the world" with out that plastic plug your fridge will not work properly. Condensation will build up inside the fridge from air infiltrating back into the box and freezing. Check the parts listing for the correct name of that plug. It does have to or should be in place for the fridge to cool properly. Keeping large amounts of ice from building up on the inside cooling fins.Re: REFRIGERATOR DRAINLINE fpresto wrote: Larmoll wrote: RV fridge drain tube should #1 have a plug in the end of the hose, believe it or not but that is a check valve. I can't speak for Dometic but that is not the case for Norcold. I have a replacement 4 pack in my hand right now and they are certainly not a check valve. You can easily blow through them from either side. That's what I thought too until I replaced it. It is not a check valve as we know it. That small hole in that plastic cap is sized to restrict air flow. Known in the engineering world as a check valve.Re: REFRIGERATOR DRAINLINERV fridge drain tube should #1 have a plug in the end of the hose, believe it or not but that is a check valve. To let drain water out and to restrict the flow of air back into the fridge. Keeps condensation from forming and iceing up the inside of the fridge. #2 The hose should have a slight upward bend to it. It would look much like a "P-Trap" much like the under sink trap in the kitchen and bath sink. This helps the flow and keeps the hose clean. Knitters out. This info came from an RV fridge rebuilder and Dometic Inc.Re: A NEW SRW vs DRW pulling a short heavy FWI have just taken delivery of a 2015 DRV 32ft 5W. Shipping weight to me was 14587# dry. I pull with a 2001 DRW ,7.3 you do need a DRW to pull a 5W of this type. The DRV 32 can weigh as much as 19K.Re: A NEW SRW vs DRW pulling a short heavy FW Acei wrote: I'm thinking something equivalent to a DRV 32ft model, which actually measures 33ft 8 inches. According to their website, the dry weight is 13.5k, and the dry pin weight is 2.8k. I expect GVWR to be around 16.5k hence when fully loaded, the pin weight might be around 3.4k. I also realize that many forum members will automatically suggest a dually for a FW of this weight, but once in a while, I see experienced drivers comment that SRW works ok as long as you stay within their published numbers. My question is, can any of the latest 2014/15 SRW Diesel 1t pickups pull this with confidence? Today's typical high-end 1t SRW trucks all go around 17k towing capacity and their payload limits are beyond 4k as well: - 2015 Sierra 3500 CC Denali SRW: Tow - 17.1k, payload - 4020lb - 2015 Ram 3500 MegaCab Laramie SRW: Tow - 16.7k, payload - 4290lb. - etc. Seems like these guys can handle the above mentioned FW along with another small/light person and a FW hitch reasonably well, at least on paper. The reason I'm asking this is because although duallies are nice when you are pulling, it is awful when you are not (at least for my use). It is awful enough that it pushed me towards A-Class + toad direction but I wanted to re-visit FW path again since there's definite benefits going with the FW. Re: Ohio E-ZPass &towingI am from Ohio and have a EZ-Pass. It has worked all across the eastern half of the U.S. on toll roads except Florida. I use the same transponder towing our fifth wheel or solo with the truck.Winterize a residential fridge.I have a new DRV with a Whrilpool fridge with a ice maker. How do you winterized the ice maker and water lines in the fridge? This my first experience with a ice maker much less a residential fridge.
