I was looking for someone else who had used a battery tender 15 watt solar panel and had suggestions on how to "install" it. Somehow it got caught up in a discussion about cut off switches. One comment was correct. Because it is a battery tender not only does it charge, but it maintains the battery with a controlled trickle charge. I ended up mounting it with u-shaped aluminum straps which are placed over a 48" ladder. This was it can be easily moved in the parking area to maximize it's efficiency.Solar Panel to Maintain BatteryAre there other folx using Solar Panels to maintain their battery while RV is parked? I just purchased a Battery Tender 15W solar panel and am setting it up tomorrow to charge and maintain my deep cell battery. Do you have any suggestions?Re: Truck bed cover....I've had a Truxedo classic since 2002. Rebuilt it twice, but would get it again. Very good product.Re: Ford F350 crewcabI have a 2002 7.3 Turbo diesel and have changed the oil every 3000 miles since new. Currently it has 236,000 and is running great. If I had just purchased one like you did, I'd change the following fluids....tranny, radiator, rear differential and also change the fuel filter.Re: DRW or SRWI have a SRW diesel pulling at my limit and have done great, however, if I had it to do over again, I would get a dually. After towing for a while, I finally figured a dually would let you get safely to the side of the road with less drama than a SRW in the case of a blowout. Unfortunately, I experienced that about 5 weeks ago. I did get to the side of the road safely, but there was more drama than I wanted. Fortunately, I didn't leave any stains in the seat, but there were a few seconds where I had to steer out of a possible jackknife while the trailer was pushing pretty hard. One thing to consider before getting a dually, check with your insurance company. A friend had a F350 and was able to insure with USAA, but he traded for a F450, and USAA dropped him because now he had a commercial vehicle and USAA would not insure it.Re: Timbrens vs Airbags vs Helper SpringI put timbrens on my F250 in 2003 and have never had an issue with them. I never aim at low flying airplanes, the ride is good with over 2000# pin weight, and there has been NO maintenance required on them. If I had it to do over again I'd go with the timbrens again....nothing to break, lose air pressure or blow up.Re: 5th wheel and tow chainsCheck you state towing regulations.Re: Fort desoto FloridaAll good suggestions but the St. Pete Pier is gone. As stated, there are many different type of sites. Fort Desoto infoRe: BF Goodrick Tire FailureBpounds, my damage is similar to yours. $4000 to bed. No way will put BFGs on anything I use to tow with. Have you been happy with the Michelins? I put mine in the shop next week and when it comes out, next stop is the tire store to get all the BFGs off.Re: BF Goodrick Tire FailureTo answer a few questions: Tires were fresh when I bought them, less than 2 months old. Never patched or repaired. 123R is 3400 lbs, pin weight of my trailer is 2500 lbs. 72 was the cold psi, actual pressure when it blew was 81. As stated in original post it was LEFT rear. The other sets I had got up to 75000 miles on them. I had not heard of a recall, do you have any information on that?
