Take the chairs option! You can swivel and look out the window on that same side. With a sofa you have to do gymnastics to look out that same window. You can swivel and watch the TV. The comfy chair is just more comfy. The sofa does not rock (in both senses of that word!) Your Imalda shoe collection can go on the floor behind the two chairs, but no floor space for shoes with the sofa. That's a great idea. I might take out the sofa, put in one swivel chair and a dog crate/bed right next to it.Re: Newb looking for 5erSo, I know it's only been a week since I mentioned we were looking at a Rear Master with Front BH to take care of the dogs, but then I got to thinking that the BH really takes away from the living area (for people, namely me and the wife!) and we're pretty much stuck with a foldout bed, two tiny recliners, and/or a dinette. I've pretty much made my mind up on the Rear Master with an adjacent Bath... why would I want to walk all the way across the trailer to take a shower? I got to thinking and the more I looked I am really liking the (relatively new) Front Living Room concept. An open floor plan with plenty of seating and you can see the TV from the kitchen. Here's what I'm talking about. Re: Question about a light weight 5th WheelTim, looking forward to hearing what you end up with. We're looking for a lightweight as well, so this thread info is great fodder for research. Thanks to all!Re: Newb looking for 5erTaz, I've got a similar situation: 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 MEGA CAB, 2WD, Cummins Engine + Me, 1 Wife, 3 Large Dogs Because of payload issues, I've been eyeing the "light" fifth wheels on the market. Not a ton (pun intended) to choose from which also limits the number of floor plans options. However, I came across this one which puts all 3 dogs in the front bunkhouse and the master bedroom in the back. This gives the boys their own room which I can even close off if I choose and it gives us a bigger master bedroom with more headroom. Check out the: Jayco Eagle Super Lite 31.5FBHS There's a couple of other light fifths on the market that you might be able to get by with.Re: Toliet/shower questionsUpgrading from a TT lacking a restroom, my wife swore she'd kill me if I bought a TC without a toilet. The cassettes seemed weird to me, so I started looking for the lightest possible TC (3/4-ton) with a wet bath which pretty leaves the Lance 825 as my only option. Now that we have the wet bath, we are soooo happy to just be able to pull over to the side of the road anytime day or night and do our duty (pun intended). I'm 6'5 and 240 and the shower's a bit small, but I manage with little problems.Re: Wardrobe Update #2Yeah, I've been eyeing this post for a while now and even bookmarked it so I can do something similar in my Lance 825 as the bedroom storage sucks big time. I've fashioned some stuff using cardboard at the moment, just so I can see what works for me.Re: Electric TC camper jack conversionFor me, the upgrade to Electric Remote Jacks was the best investment so far. It makes putting the camper on the truck and taking it off that much easier. I don't even break a sweat! :) If I know I'm travelling for more than 5 days or so, I remove the jacks to save some weight which I offset by other******I end up taking on those longer trips. I love them! I sold my four used manuals for $600 on Craigslist.Re: Shower fixture replacement in a BF10.4EYet another thing learned! Sounds great Beagle!Re: Shower fixture replacement in a BF10.4EThis is exactly the information that I've been searching for! Thanks for the info and the links - can't wait to convert mine!Re: Single Handle Shower Faucet? Jeepers92 wrote: I oonverted mine a couple years ago. I replaced the sink faucet with one from home depot. I placed a shower valve in front of my sink, it sticks out a bit, but has been no problem. Tee off the cold and hot input lines to the sink and run them to the valve. Add a wall valve next to the shower handle and attach you shower wand to this. Works great and you have real brass/metal plumbing then. The wall connection was expensive for what it was, was a lot cheaper at Amazon once I had already purchased one at the local plumbing store for $30. Very happy I did it, also replaced the plastic kitchen unit at the same time. Sounds simple enough. I'm a plumbing idiot - have me replace just one washer and it'll take me seven hours and three trips to Home Depot. :S You wouldn't happen to have a pic would you?
