All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Continental spare tire holderThanks pasusan. For me the slippery is not the issue. It's the weight! UPDATE: I have seen on another Forum that a spring has been used, installed / attached to the horizontal bar and the upright bar. so to lower the tire you may have to push down! But to raise the tire the spring takes much of the weight and pulls it back into upright position. At least that is the theory. I'll be going to an automotive (springs and shocks, etc.) shop this week to see if they can do something like this for me with a heavy duty spring. PS We use our unit actively and when on the road I'd like to have ready access to the entire rear space. MordenRe: Flojet portable maceratortoedtoes I want to know from someone who uses this that it does work as advertised. I'd also like to hear about issues that you've encountered. What I'm unclear about is this: > once the self priming pump is primed I realize it pumps the effluent OUT ? but does it also pump the waste FROM the holding tank or is that part of the process dependent on gravity? Thanks for replying MordenRe: Flojet portable maceratorDKS - thank you. I'm in the GTA and would be interested in who installed it. Also if you have a picture or drawing of where and how they installed the hose I'd love to know. I'm trying to visualize how they get both tanks. Also - is it the portable model that has now been installed permanently? MordenFlojet portable maceratorgiving up on 2004 roadtrek 190 pump out. Anyone have epeirence using the Flojet portable Macerator?Continental spare tire holderMy 2004 Roadtrek 190 has a spare tire (Continental) holder on the rear bumper. It has to be lowered to access the driver side rear door. I am finding it very heavy for me to manage (wasn't always that way!!) and so the rear door access to storage is really cut off for easy access. Has any body developed a way to overcome the weight problem? Maybe a pulley system or??????Re: Sleeping QuartersHad a similar situation in a TT. Solution was to use a foam pad on top of the cushions. This also softened the ridges created by the cushions. Also make sure that the base on which you place the cushions is tight fitting. Fortunately our current PleasureWay has an electric bed - beautiful!! Good luck.screeningNew to Class B. I'm thinking of getting some netting to hang down when the entry doors are open so they can be left open and mosquito's etc. can't get in, but we can get out. I'm sure we are not the first to do this so I'd love to get some input from those who have gone before.... I'm talking about a 2000 PleasureWay Excel. 1 door is entry to the house. The second door (beside it) opens but is the back of the sink cabinetry etc. Thanks MordenRe: Running engine when stoppedThank you all - great help - I think we'll be fine. > Pleasureway Excel wide body 2000 > All overnight without power will be at a truck stop / Cracker Barrel / etc. > Fridge on propane > Furnace off or very low > Hopefully not much below freezing on occasion > Almost always only one night followed by a day of driving Happy travels ......Re: Running engine when stoppedBrand new about 6 months ago and 1 long trip by the former owner.Re: Running engine when stoppedHandbasket and Dave - thanks - will upgrade lights. And Handbasket's comment suggests that the idling is in any event not doing what I thought it would do (i.e. maintaining the juice in the house batteries). This unit (new to us) does have 2 new house batteries. I think my first move should be to get a sense of how much power I do have on board without plugging in. I can do this by actually experiencing it on our first long road trip. Or perhaps invest in a trial in my driveway without being plugged in and leaving lights on until bedtime and then leave the furnace on for one night. For the cost of the propane for one night I will then be better informed. Thank you all.
