They are much better than the factory Firestone transforce junk.Re: RAM friends and family discount davidbt wrote: There's also a guy on the Cummins forum who goes by Indytruckchampion, Most of the people who bought from him sound very please. His name is Ken and he is at Bob Schwartz, which is in Indiana. I ordered mine from him last year and he was great to work with. Good luckRe: RAM 3500 CC LB 4x4 6.4 hemi fuel mileageMy 6.4 with 4.10s usually got 13-14 mpg empty (2014 Ram 2500 crew long bed 4x4) and around 7mpg with my camper. The Cummins is getting 18-19 empty and 11-12 with the little bit I towed the camper (but that was two fairly short trips). The empty is mixed driving with a good portion on the freeway at 70-75 mph. It has dropped about a 1 mpg with winter blend fuel.Re: Ram SRWA 3500 srw will be fine. I have over 4k lbs payload with mine and 17k tow capacity rating.Re: Towing with a 6.4 hemi With 4:10'sI had a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 and 4.10 with a ~12k loaded trailer. It handled it ok, but you're looking at an extra ton of trailer compared to that and you have a diesel now (I went from 03 Ram Cummins to 14 Ram 6.4 and now to 16 Ram Cummins). In my opinion, the diesel is worth it if you plan to drive any distance with the trailer. If just short pulls, the 6.4 will be fine. I prefer daily driving the Cummins over the Hemi as well. Good luckRe: Ram 3500 hd diesel quanity questionCheck with Ken at Bob Schwartz RAM in Indiana. I just got my new ordered RAM through him and got a great deal. He delivers some too out of state.Re: Question about 6.4 HemiI have a 6.4 Hemi with 4.10s. My 5th wheel is about that size. I have a new Cummins on order. I would compare the power to my old 03 standard output Cummins (250hp/460 lb-ft), but it revs a lot higher to make the power. As a daily driver, I get about 13mpg with a 50 mile round trip commute that is mostly freeway. Towing from OH to FL, I got 7mpg. I could maintain speed on the grades, but was in 2nd gear. The 6.4 is very capable, but I prefer the low end torque and power of the diesel.Re: RAM 6.7 Cummins $Price off the new truck is half the deal, but you also need to get a good trade value. Kernersville in NC offered over $11k off a new Big Horn, but they also offered $7k less trade in than I ended up getting at a dealer that was a little over $10k off msrp on the new truck. I would definitely recommend Ken @ Bob Schwartz Ram in Indiana. He is the truck manager. Mine actually got built yesterday and should be at the dealer in about 12 days.Re: Seasonal site near central OHThanks. I'll check those out.Re: 3/4 TonIt will pull the mountains on this side of the Mississippi, you will spend time in 2nd to maintain speed on some of the steeper grades (like in WV). I think tow/haul does a decent job of helping slow you down too. Its no exhaust brake, but better than nothing. I can't speak to how it would perform with the higher elevation and steep grades. To be honest, if I had been able to drive it through the mountains with a load before I bought it, I would have gone Cummins right off the bat. This is my first non-Cummins HD truck. I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, but I was used to the low RPM driving of the diesel, so if you can deal with that and the mpg, I think you'll be ok.
