I'll research this a bit more.Re: Need advice on towing cargo trailerIt is a 2009 model, so pre-Forest River I suspect. I'm not sure of the weight numbers. I'll have to research that. I didn't consider the hitch issue.Need advice on towing cargo trailerI own a 35-foot Class A gasser motorhome (Damon Daybreak) powered by a Ford V-10. I want to tow a 20-foot cargo trailer from Michigan to Florida to move furniture, etc. I have been told that this unit cannot tow such a load without damage to the drivetrain. I have towed a Dodge Caravan numerous times without problems. Has anyone had experience with this?Question about Tailgator satellite installationI just got a Dish TV tailgator satellite unit for my class A motorhome and have some issues about the installation. The motorhome is equipped with a control panel that allows me to select between antenna, cable, satellite, etc. There are cable connections installed for "Satellite In" and "Satellite Out." The TV is mounted to a cabinet and I cannot access the back without taking the wall mount out, which would be a time consuming and no doubt frustrating undertaking. The Dish converter unit has one cable connection for the line from the satellite unit but that is the only cable connector on the unit. I tried to attach cables into both connectors on the RV and press the satellite switch on the control panel, but could not get a signal. Do I have to remove the TV and connect it to the converter with a separate cable (HD) or did I simply overlook something?First trip to AlaskaThis may have all been covered in previous posts, but I have some questions about driving to Alaska in a Class A motorhome with a tow behind. What are road conditions like in Canada and Alaska? We've been told that we will destroy our unit by driving it to Alaska because of bad road conditions. True? False? About how long will it take to drive there from Southern Michigan allowing for meal and rest room stops? We normally average between 400-500 miles per day. About how long should we allow for the trip? I realize we cannot see everything but we don't want to just drive up, look around and then drive back. We hope to see glaciers and whales at least, more if we can reasonably do it. Thanks in advance for any advice you all can provide.
