We've traveled the country (48 states excluding Alaska and Hawaii) in 40+ years of camping. But we have narrowed our trips down to 4. 1. The Black Hills area including Devils Tower. 2. Colorado, the east range. Colorado Springs area, Pikes Peak, Leadville, Great Sand Dunes, etc. 3. Cape Hatteras National Seashore. 4. We've been to Ashville and love the area. Really love Cape Hatteras. Love the Black Hills too. The best advice I can give you after 40+ years of camping (tent -11, pop-up -5, 16 footer - 11, 26 footer - 20), is to use the state parks/public campgrounds in whichever state you are in/near. They all have websites and you will have to make an account to make reservations. They have different reservation windows, so pay attention to that. In our earlier years we did KOAs and mostly privates but are beyond those now. Most state parks are nicer with more room, less noise, and lower costs. These days whenever we camp I make reservations. That's a great time to go. Fewer people as most schools aren't out yet. And the weather is usually good. But you have to expect some snow. Might not happen, but expect it. The 4 corners has become more commercialized the second time we went, so expect that too. Mesa Verde is a good stop. They do have a few electrical sites in their campground. Custer state park for camping. You can make reservations 12 months out while the rest of SD state parks are 3 months out. Things we do: Mount Rushmore, Black Hills Playhouse, There is a ghost town near the playhouse (I forget its name, there is a website). Custer State Park. Devil's Tower near Sundance Wyoming, we also camp there but no hookups or dump, but exit 187 along the interstate has a dump.. Wall Drug. Badlands, camp at Ben Reifel. Just pull-outs along two loops but have electric.. Can make reservations there on their website. it is just the 2 of us and we are retired. we keep our trips to a max of 1 month. too much to worry about at home even though we have people watching and taking care of things. lawn, etc in the summer and snow, furnace, etc in the winter. i have found that the following travel ideas work well. we always stay 2 days after driving about 6 hours. gives the driver, me, a chance to recoup. the older you get the harder the driving, at least for me. we will have a 1 to 1.5 week destination and will throw in 4 days somewhere.1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Priming the water pump

the two low point hoses drain the water in the plumbing. the fresh water tank won't be too far from you fresh water fill. the drain for the fresh water tank could be anywhere. my tank is between the axles and the drain is in the front under the tongue which is about 12 feet from the tank.1.1KViews0likes0Comments
