What, as in my case, if the buyer and his bank is 100 miles away and the DMV to handle the tile is 40 miles in the opposite direction?Re: Selling an RV/paymentThis subject has been covered quite often. Most suggestions have been how to conduct the transaction between 2 people living in the the same town 2 miles from each other and their banks 3 blocks apart. Do everything together is the theme. Easy! What do you do in my case where the buyer is 100 miles from the seller and the DMV is 40 miles at the county seat in the opposite direction? Not so easy!Re: Selling an RV/paymentThere has been a lot of advice on this subject on this forum. Trouble is all talk is about a transaction between 2 parties that live in the same town 2 miles from each other. Things get complicated when distance enters the picture. Go to the bank together to handle the money; then to the DMV to handle the title. What procedure is feasible when the banks are 100 miles apart and the DMV is at the county seat 40 miles away in the opposite direction? If our that worried I would stay home. If your parking location when not used is not secure then find another place.Wheel BearingsI have a 28 ft. TT and had the wheels bearings completely serviced in 2019. I have used the trailer only twice since then for 2 trips of 400 miles total. I would like to make another trip of about equal mileage but my regular establishment has changed hands and only handles automobiles so will not work on a TT. I conversed with the local RV dealer and he is booked up until late September. He advised that since there are only few miles since servicing to take the end caps off (these are E-Z Lube), shoot some grease in and call it good. My understanding is that this is a no-no and especially since they have not been disassembled for 3 years. I know the recommendation is for 1 year but have had TT's for 20 years and never followed that time frame. I did the whole thing every 2 years and had no trouble. But they were not E-Z Lube. Need advice!Jacking For Tire ChangeSeems there is a lot of controversy over where to place a jack on a 2-axle travel trailer to change a single tire or service wheel bearings. Experts say under the U-bolt plate is not OK because of the danger of bending the axle. Question is how can the axle get bent when you are lifting the suspension system at the U-bolt location which is built to handle it. Same as driving the single wheel up on a 2 inch board. Some experts say to place the jack under the frame behind the wheel which appears to me to invite damage to the frame more so than the axle method. Also, this way the trailer has to be lifted quite high for the springs to extend and lift the tire off the ground. Under the U-bolt only requires a few inches to get the tire up. Please enlighten me!Re: Lake TahoeFor ThermoGuy. Relax. Not going unitl JuneOld RV'sI have a 1985 truck camper in excellent condition. I have since changed RV mode to a travel trailer and contemplating what to do with the camper. It will not fit any newer model pickups since they have raised the rail heights so blocking would be needed on the bed to clear the side rails. This would probably make it top-heavy. I have seen some mounted on a trailer and this may be the only option. Suggestions?Old RV'sThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 30317608
