I never lowered the landing gear . I just manually applied the traler brake and pulled forward .

I used a graphite lubricant . If you use a wd-40 type , it will be a magnet for dirt and dust . But I will bet some type of lube will do the trick .

Your story sounds very similar to my wife and myself . Just to much to sleep on the ground . We have had our 5er for 3 years now. You will adjust it's great fun .

You only need the pump when using water from your tank . If hooked up to city water you have no need for the pump , water pressure comes from the city water . I also don't see why you would need to use water from your tank when dumping . There is normally a water hose at the dump station
