All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: When did TT's become "Campers"TV news anchors need to learn correct terminology. They almost always refer to a motor home as a mobile home, and older mobile homes are called trailer homes on the news. SMHRe: Cruiser RV, EmbraceJust bought a used 2015 Fun Finder 210OUS that was used only twice. The only reason the person sold it is because he purchased a motor home and decided to sell the travel trailer. Love it,Camping World MembershipI am a GS Lifetime Member and have not had an RV for 3 years. So this is probably a stupid question to all of you. Do Good Sam members no longer pay for Camping World membership? GS benefits state that GS members get up to 30% off at CW. Is it only for specific items and only if you have a CW membership? You can see why I'm confused. Thank you.Re: Do Brands Matter? (Keystone/Crossroads/Wildwood/Jayco)Definitely go with a dealer that is nearby, in case repairs need to be done. We had a Crossword Sunset Trails that leaked near the front door and bed. We used it 3 times and the bumper-to-bumper extended warranty for 3 years went out of business 2 months after we purchased it from an RV Dealer in Indiana. When we called the dealership he told us he was just a third party. Guess what? In the fine print on the back page stated that the dealership is only offering the warranty for a warranty company and is not responsible to fulfill any warranty promises. We totally repaired all the water damage and sold it. That was 3 years ago. Only now are we looking to RV again.Re: Found a small TT,,Does anyone know anything about the Coleman 16FB (21.5-ft) TT? We are also looking for a lightweight TT. I like the floor plan and the price shown on the Camping World website. This is something that maybe the OP might want to look into. We gave up camping after we were burned with our purchase of a Sunset Ultralight TT and was ripped-off with the extended warranty. But I have missed camping so much that my husband bought a 2017 Honda Ridgeline and we are now checking out TTs that we can pull. You would have to manually align it but with a compass that wouldnt be to hard. Sorry to respond so late, but I just got back from a graduation out of state. Although we could take our receiver, our dish is attached to the roof. Therefore, I would need to buy another dish, which is why I asked if all dishes work with all receivers.Re: Portable Satelite Dish, Is renting a option allen8106 wrote: Just buy an extra dish off of Craigslist and point it manually with a compass. That's what I did and it works great. Had an extra receiver when my daughter moved out. Dish and 50' of cable cost me $20. We did that with DirecTV. Do all satellite dishes work with all receivers?Re: Portable Satelite Dish, Is renting a option ArticFox 676 wrote: iuki wrote: ArticFox 676 wrote: iuki wrote: ArticFox 676 wrote: We have Dish and also received a free dish and receiver box (not DVR) to leave in the trailer. They also came out when our trailer was at the house and helped us set things up and made sure everything worked. Can't ask for better service than that. We have Dish with the sling-box, but you need wi-fi to use it. Do you know where we can get a reasonably priced dish and receiver for our trailer? We called Dish and they came to the house and gave us both the receiver and dish with tripod for free. Had to have the trailer at the house since that is the address on the bill. Our trailer is also at our house. Do you pay a monthly fee or "pay-as-you-go"? We don't pay anything extra. We don't have a sling box just an HD DVR. Sometimes we have to call Dish and they ping our box and we are activated. [COLOR=]You have a good deal. When we spoke with Dish here in Orlando, we would have to either purchase or rent a dish and receiver. Oh well.Re: Portable Satelite Dish, Is renting a option ArticFox 676 wrote: iuki wrote: ArticFox 676 wrote: We have Dish and also received a free dish and receiver box (not DVR) to leave in the trailer. Also Dish has an on-the-go program that you activate/deactivate when you travel, for a reasonable fee. I just hate to put out all that money for the satellite and receiver. I'm reluctant to buy from craigslist in case the items don't work. We're hoping to start traveling more. Thanks for your response. dadmomh wrote: We have DirecTV at home and I called them about something for the trailer. They said I would either have to buy an additional receiver + the dish or take a receiver from the house and buy the dish. I asked if there was a charge for the time used only....no such luck. We would have to have a monthly plan and whether we used it or not, the bill would come rolling in regardless. We decided the whole thing was just way more hassle and $ than we were interested in. For a few dollars, we just buy a couple new DVDs when we see something good and go with that. Actually, we spend very little time watching anything but the trees, birds, and enjoying the quiet.
