I wanted to see if this worked as advertised so I set up an alert for a campground I have been trying to get into that is always booked. I followed the process and only input my email. After completing that the prompts quickly went to choosing a monthly or annual package. At that point I left the website but did notice their cheapest annual package was $90. A couple hours later I saw an email thanking me for joining with an annual subscription and my next payment was due 2-10-2021. I followed up and checked my CC statement and I had been charged $89.95 for an annual subscription to "Active Advantage". I never input a credit card number. I contacted my credit card company and discussed this fraud and my card was cancelled. After a little research I found others that have had similar things happen to them with Active Advantage. The only thing that I found online was that Reserve America name was a common denominator. This may be an isolated case but be careful and check your statements if you visited that site, the only thing I can think of is this is a rebranded company that I worked with previously and retained my CC number. Coincidence maybe??? Most Likely not.Re: Best *mid priced* Kinetic Recovery Rope?Check out these and find the appropriately rated kinetic rope for your needs, also check out their soft shackles for added safety. Bubbba RopeRe: Camper Renovation and Capabilities of a 2007 Tundra DoubleI have been a long time member here with a name change, used to be jimandsue60. we have had a lot of Truck campers, motorhomes and 5th wheels that we fulltimed in. We are now in a home here on Sanibel Island, Florida. Owning a 2015 DC Tundra we wanted to get back out on the road and get into the back country where we couldn't get to with the full size TC's we have owned. We researched and went with an AT Summit topper for our Tundra, light weight and basically a tent above the bed of the tundra. We have spent a lot of nights in it. I have a 12 volt fridge/freezer, port potty, solar, large battery bank and inverters to keep the fridge going as well as charging batteries for my drones. I have added a 10K winch, 2.75 inch lift, TRD Pro sway bar, larger wheels and tires. There are some pics here, PicsRe: loosing old members gatrdave wrote: eubank wrote: Different kinds of social media, I'd say. Forums are kind of old style. (Which is sad because I prefer forums to more modern versions of social media.) :( Lynn I agree-I prefer them, too. Especially since posting in here isn't going to become part of my permanent Facebook record that is analyzed for their marketing uses! I looked but didn't see my old name on the list. I used to be jimandsue. This thread brings back a lot of memories. I had to change my user name for a couple of reasons. We stopped full timing in 2015 but now have a different style truck camper on a Tundra. I am still building it and will post some pics this week. It is nice seeing some of the old names again. I have a DJI 450 that is lit up like a Christmas tree at night. Then a custom built folding HK Quanum Folding 470 and another custom built Tarot 650 Sport I prefer to build my own vs buying off the shelf models. I do not need a lot of the newer features that seem to be the norm these days.Re: Aerial Photo of your house? In the old days a plane w/ photographer would take photos of peoples places. I'm wondering if this can be accomplished via internet/satellite images these days? Thanks If you were closer I would take some aerials for you for free. I do not have my FAA 333 exemption YET so I can not charge a fee. Here is my home photo taken from one of my copters. But we have checked into a couple other parks, mainly ones that are owner/owned where you can have an RV on your lot or actually put a park model on it, and those maintenance fees run from around $1,200 a year to just over $2,500. As far as Gulf Water maintenance fees go, I would be shocked if they were $6,000 or more, but I could be wrong. My buddy owns his own lot at Palmetto Palms, which is on Summerlin between Sanibel and San Carlos (road to Fort Myers Beach), and he put a park model on it. His association dues, property taxes, and insurance are $3,800 per year total. You can also put an RV on you own empty lot there but the length limit is 35' which leaves us out. I realize being on Sanibel Island would be an unbelievable location, almost unmatched in SW Florida, just don't know if we want to spend 7 or 8 months in one spot down there yet, which we would have to in order to justify it. I'm saving your post jimandsue60, don't be surprised if I show up with a bucket of live shrimp and my fishing rod! Sweet!, I will boil the shrimp and you can take my boat :)Re: Buying RV Lots In SW Florida 2gypsies wrote: Why not rent if you're a full-timer? RV lots don't sell well, especially with park models. That is a great question! We do not have a park model but continue to use our Mobile Suite 5th wheel. We are also long term Thousand Trail Owners, And we own a spot in SW Florida. If and when the poop hits the fan we have lots of options on where we can survive on a fairly low budget. Lots of options!
